I never write reviews, but after my experience with this company, I felt like somebody should know how a simple car rental could turn into something so unnecessarily inconvenient. The credit for these difficulties goes to the overzealous branch manager Brian Bixby. His methods for dealing with people leaves little to be desired. In a city where there is no shortage of cars or companies to rent them from, take this as an omen to find somebody else to provide you with a car! I am speaking from a unique perspective, I rent a car 365 days a year and have dealt with the majority of these companies; trust me, any other company will do at providing you with better service than this one! This particular location I have rented from twice now and each time I have endured an unnecessary hassle! I should have learned from the first bad experience, but I am forgiving and Mr. Bixby did rectify that situation… but it was only after I had complained to their corporate headquarters. The first incident happened after having one of their cars for about a month I was shocked into receiving a bill that was nearly twice as much as it should have been. It turned out that I was being charged for my rental plus an additional $17 a day for insurance coverage; despite my emphatic refusal to accept that option when we hammered out the original agreement. Apparently, Mr. Bixby didn’t accept the ‘No’ that I had given him some twenty times before when he was trying to sell me that additional coverage! He hadn't given up, in fact he resorted to ‘tricking’ me into initialing the box that states that I agreed to it, even though I hadn’t! Be careful because you might think that you have finally gotten them to stop pushing the extra coverage, just to find out like I did that they ‘tricked’ you into accepting it after all. Fortunately for me I was able to get in touch with a sympathetic executive in their corporate headquarters, who must have lit some sort of fire, because within the next hour I received a call from a very cooperative Mr. Bixby, willing to reverse all those erroneous charges. This unexpected change of attitude and the remarkable service that I received from Mr. Bixby is what prompted me to give them another chance a couple of months later, even though I should have realized that his sudden flip in disposition was likely the result of him being disciplined, rather than a genuine admission of error. Mr. Bixby himself confirmed that when later he tried to take credit for this action, claiming his motivation for doing so was 'a favor'! Take my advice, if you do decide to go to this location and you don’t want to pay for the additional coverage, bring a copy of your full coverage insurance with you. Make sure it includes the damage limits and deductibles, because, despite it being none of his business, he will want to know those figures. He will dismiss most carriers for one reason or another and don’t bother mentioning any coverage you might get from your credit card company, these plans are useless according to him. Have a number for him to call you at and make sure that that line is open and available to him the entire time! The most exasperating experience of all was when I was in court all day and unable to take his repeated calls! Even though I had set up my phone to advise any caller that I would be unavailable until later that afternoon, I received five calls with five voice mails that day. Without even waiting for a response, he continued to try and contact meand even went as far as calling my mother, in Las Vegas, Nevada! Leaving an indiscreet detailed message! Imagine my horror when after court I turn on my phone to see the list of calls and messages (did I mention his 3 emails?) as well as frantic messages from my mother! No other company that I rent from ever asks me more than once whether or not I want their additional coverage. Just look at the reviews here and its pretty obvious what their policy is! and its not in the customer's favor!

TL;DR: We booked two big vans at this location months in advance, and they told us they don't have them an hour before pick up. We were told to bring back cars on Sunday morning, office was closed, no dropbox, no way to return the car, had to spend the entire afternoon looking for a location to leave the car. I would strongly recommend looking at a different rental place. We reserved two big vans at this location three months in advance for a relay race we were going to run with 12 people. An hour before I was supposed to pick up both vans, someone from the office called me up and said they have only one small van, and one midsize car for 5 people. After altering our plans, we were told there is a bigger van at the Greenwood location waiting for us if we want a second big van. We arrived at the Greenwood location, there was no bigger van, only a small van, the same size. When getting the cars, I asked if the location is open on Sunday to return the car, as the return date was Sunday morning, I was told, yea, the office is open til 1. I arrived to return the car, as stated in the contract, not only was the office closed, but there was no dropbox, and customer service told us they couldn't do anything about it. We drove around all of Seattle until we returned the car at the Downtown location. We spent an entire afternoon just to return these cars....

Very interesting experience. Normally I use National, but occasionally I go to local Enterprise. Being a National EE member, I never had this experience before at any other places. But a person called RICKY at this place is just funny/judgemental/disrespectful enough to let me write a review about him. (Other folks are friendly.) First time, I was 40min late and no cars were available. No free upgrades provided. I had no complaints about this because that was part of my fault. Waited another 40 min, got a 33k miles Nissan. When I declined buying LDW from them, Ricky asked me to show him my insurance ID card. Nobody asked for this kind of file at any other places. He just simply made things more complicated and less friendly. Second time, I booked the car with a school contract, as an alumni. And I set it to leisure travel. More interestingly, he called ahead, told me I can't use it if it's not for business travel and will report me. How interesting he treats their customer. Canceled the reservation and will not come back again. This is even not about being not friendly, it's about being a jerk. In general he makes people think that they are a big corp and they don't even care about losing one customer. The art of customer service, from RICKY at this location.

UPDATE: if you read the comment from Enterprise, clearly the commenter didn't read my review. We never got a car, but we had to drive nearly 100 miles to be told that the cars we had reserved on the phone DIDN'T ACTUALLY EXIST. SMH... When you call any Enterprise office, you get routed to a central switchboard. The CSR there relies on information on file for inventory at the office you called and will tell you a car is available, even when it isn't. Not sure how you can get through to the actual office, but don't be surprised if you go there and there isn't a car! We drove 30 miles to one office, and they told us they didn't have ANY cars. So we called another office that appeared (online) to have a car. Again, we talked to the central office when we thought we were talking to a rental office. We drove 40 miles in the other direction, only to find they didn't have any cars either. Bottom line, find a way to confirm with the actual rental office that they really have inventory available, before you waste time, gas, and effort.

Since moving to Seattle this place had been my go-to for rentals whenever my wife or I wanted to go on vacation and not use our own vehicles. Sadly I will have to stop using their services as the customer service lately has gone downhill. For our wedding, I reserved a vehicle days in advance and on the day before my reservation(the day before my wedding) I get a call from one of the guys working there telling me that the time I picked to pickup my car would be a problem. I asked if I could pick it up a little earlier and there was no wiggle room and there was no way for me to pick up after 1 because they were closing. This was out of my hands because they told me a day before I was supposed to pick up and I was getting married during the time periods that they were able to get me the car. They told me they couldn't do anything for me. There was this nice young lady that used to help me with my cars but recently there's been a guy that's been answering the phones that just isn't up to par.

I would give this place 5 stars but when you've been renting from this place for a while and one day one of their agents refuses to rent you a car because they are "uncomfortable giving you a car" because you didn't want to take their insurance option, you start to question yourself what it is about yourself that makes her uncomfortable. After some arguing she lets me rent a car even though just earlier she claimed they didn't allow people to take cars without liability inaurance and that its against the law. Well if it truly was against the law you wouldn't have given me the car at all. So I think you just didn't like me as a person in our short interaction that day. I'll very likely never rent from this location as I've never experienced this kind of disrespect and obvious lying from a service. Calling enterprise customer service even told me she was in the wrong...

Update: two hours have passed by and it is over 11. There is nothing we can do but wait. I wish to give zero point if possible. This place is super slow. We are a group of four and have been waiting here for over an hour but the waiting queue merely moves forward. There are only four seats available for the customer which is way less than the actual need. Thinking about that a crow of 30 people squeezing and standing inside a tiny office. Even though everyone knows this is a busy holiday weekend, there is only one person actually working in the office who is multi-functioning: walk in and outside frequently to move the cars around one by one... taking tons of business and personal phone calls... processing returning car... while the little office is crowded with a full room of standing and suffering customers. What a hilarious experience!

At pickup the customer service seemed friendly and cooperative. I was very disappointed that we were given an American car, since the description was of a Toyota model, but I did not have the time to talk about it and did not voice my concern. The car was acceptable, though a bit grungy on the inside. A previous passenger had obviously spilled something on the backseat and it had not been cleaned up. After returning the vehicle I was SHOCKED to find that there were over $100 in extra charges for insurance coverage that I did not want, but had been told to initial for when renting the car to waive liability for damages. No fee was discussed. Read every letter of the contract. This treatment was dishonest and has guaranteed that I will not be using Enterprise again.

The Roosevelt Way Enterprise office is head and shoulders the best Enterprise location we've used. In particular, the old off-site airport shop was full of terribly pushy employees who would try to harangue us to upgrade our insurance and car size no matter what preferences we indicated in our reservation. We quit going to Enterprise because of constantly feeling pressured. My parents rented from the Roosevelt location and reported that they were very friendly and customer-service oriented so we now give them our business too, and are very happy with the staff. Going around lunchtime seems to be a bad idea based on staffing levels, but otherwise we've had only good experiences.

I have rented here NUMEROUS times as it is walking distance to my house. I continue to rent from here for the following reasons: Weekend Specials are #1 reason. Flexibility on getting me the car I choose. Willingness to negotiate prices I am a dog owner, and I use a seat cover in all vehicles my dogs travels in. I am sure that some hair flies around the car, but they never complain because I never trash the car. Happy, polite staff. These things have made me very loyal to Enterprise. I use them ANYWHERE they are available. Even some other options, such as Turo have not got my attention because of the treatment by Enterprise. I hope you keep up the great service.

I have rented a car from this location several times and I have always had a fantastic experience until now. I met the manager today who was completely awful. She would not allow me to rent a car because I did not have a credit card. I have rented at this location with my debit card multiple times and never had any issues. This time she asked me for a return flight proof since I have an out of state license (I drove here and my car was in the shop, hence the rental). She would not budge on this issue and seemed to enjoy telling me no. The normal employees I rent from are fantastic, but this "manager" was on a power trip and ruined my opinion of this location.

Great customer service here. They don't always have the car you want on hand, even if you reserved it previously, but they will most likely substitute in a different vehicle without changing the price even if it's bigger. I even got a free half tank of gas because they were out of economy cars and all I could take was a suburban. However, make sure you check out the cars fully before taking them. One vehicle I rented had the "change oil" light on before I pulled out of the lot. Another did not have any window-washer fluid in the tank. I'll still rent from them, but I'll make sure to leave more time to do a proper vehicle inspection of my own.

We rented a car for a road trip Seattle to Colorado. on our way the check engine light came on about 50 miles outside of Boise, ID . We called Enterprise and they immediately started calling around Boise to find a new car in the end we had to go to the airport but along the whole way EVERYONE was kind and helpful including the people we returned the car too back in Seattle. We even got to do a little promotion of Enterprise to the the other relatives at the wedding who had gone with Budget and experienced nothing but aggravation! Also I love the App it really helped when we needed to contact Enterprise about the check engine light.

Most credible rental car store near U district. Staffs are well prepared to provide great service. They use ipad to do rental contract, and it is super fast and correct! They gave me a receipt through email, and I rented a car with great clearness and without any harms. They care about people's waiting and customers are not likely to wait for a long time. I returned my car early in the morning when the store is not yet open. But they noticed their car is to return that they gave me a proper advice to return fast even before the working hour. I was satisfied with kind and decent service from this store. I hope to meet them soon!

I reserved a minivan from this location, but the day of my rental I was informed that they did not have a minivan or any other vehicle for my 6 passengers. They helpfully found a rental at Avis, although the van they found was a behemoth and also cost nearly twice as much as my original rental. They assured me that they would reimburse me the difference. But, nearly 4 months later, I have not received that reimbursement, and chasing down the reimbursement has wasted an incredible amount of time. The people are friendly, but they either don't follow through or straight-up lied to me.

Made a reservation online and filled out most of the paperwork ahead of time so pickup was super easy. Showed up, got checked in, went out to inspect the car I was given with the associate and was then handed the keys, all of which took about 10 min. The jeep Compass I was given for my weekend camping getaway was perfect, clean and well maintained. I dropped the car off after hours at the end of the weekend with no issues and was refunded my deposit within 3 days. Overall great experience at this location, and much easier to get in and out of than some other locations in Seattle.

Visited my local Enterprise for a last minute car rental. The car selection was limited, but nonetheless I decided to give them a try. The only vehicle available was a Mitsubishi Mirage. It was a mirage alright. I’ve never seen a car like that. Not sure if it’s a cross over? The only defect was a missing wheel cover. Still, the car did a great job and was overall fuel efficient. I left the airport in Medford, OR with a smile on my face. Not sure if they will bring it back to Seattle, but they might. I look forward to doing business with them in the future. Thank you.

Was late an hour for a rental pick up I scheduled weeks in advance and found out they had given my car to a walk in. They literally had zero cars in the lot. My friends, who were kind enough to wait with me, ended up sticking around for a whole hour and a half to finally get me a vehicle. Does not make sense to have to wait so long for a rental that should’ve been there. I will say that while I was not impressed with the woman who “helped”/ignored me, Michael is a fantastic representative. Very friendly and made the experience a little less frustrating.

I called last night to see if they had any available bookings at this location and the woman said they have a lot of availability for the rest of the week. She was super nice and informative. When I called back today to confirm my reservation, the man who answered said I couldn't get my car until Monday. When I tried to call a different location, I was forwarded to a customer service representative who was able to book me a reservation at that this location for today. The 1 star is for the guy who didn't even try to help me and could've cost me my job.

Booked a car here and showed up 30 minutes before closing. They indicated that they gave our car away (we prepaid the rental) and that they couldn't give us a car today. Based on this experience with enterprise I wouldn't book with them again. Apparently they are just here to screw you over and not give you a car you paid for. We chose to book here rather than the airport because we didn't need to the car until the 2nd half of our trip. I've booked with fox car rental and had a wildly different - positive experience. Well use them next time.

I had a great experience when we rented a car with Enterprise during my vacation to the Pacific Northwest. We had reserved a full size car but when we got there, the agent, Chris, let us know we could go up to an SUV for a very small additional fee so we jumped at the chance. The Jeep was perfect for us. The whole transaction was smooth and quick. Drop off was equally smooth. At the end, the charges were exactly what Chris quotes so I was very happy. Would rent from here again if we are in the area.

The people at this location are so warm and friendly, yet professional. They clearly care about their customers and have renewed my faith in customer service. I had absolutely nothing negative to say about my car rental experience. I got a great car at a reasonable rate (after scouring the internet and calling around). I love their delivery service! I was even allowed to drop the car off at another location without a charge. Everything went so smoothly! I would definitely rent from here again!

I rented a car 2 days ago. When I drove away and took off my mask there was a smell of sourness and that smell couldn’t go away. Today when I returned the car and complaint about this, they confirmed that there was indeed smell and refunded a portion of my rental costs. Although it’s a bit unfortunate for me to have to bear the smell for 2 days but I’m impressed by how they manage to handle these kinds of situations and make immediate actions after they confirm these situations.

My car was totaled. As if that wasn't enough, everyone (and I mean everyone), was giving me a hard time with the exception of the guys at this office. I rented for months, so I am qualified to say that they were repeatedly accommodating, made everything as simple as possible, gave me the best possible rates, and and didn't act as if anything they did was special at all. In this day and age, it's special. If you have to rent a car---chose this agency, this location.

liars. I see by the other reviews that this place has not improved. They charged me for damage to a vehicle which had been done prior to my rental. Someone (maybe even one of their own staff) had knocked off and expertly taped on the side view mirror. They didn't notice it (nor did I) when I rented it, but they sure noticed it right away when I returned it and charged me $400. It is a total scam. I wonder how many other people they get away stealing from.

Super pleasant experience! The woman who helped me check was so super friendly and helpful, we did a walk around the car. She gave me all the info I needed. Getting to the car was super easy. I think the whole check out process took 5 minutes MAYBE.. Returning the car was after hours but again we just left the keys in a drop box, and signed out. The car was in new condition, the insides were super clean. I will always try to rent from this location.

I have to say, this Enterprise has their stuff handled and squared away!! I had a rental from this particular Enterprise while my car was in the shop getting repairs. Picking up the rental and initial check out was easy peasy and fast. Returning the car was, dare I say, even faster! Added bonus points: I was given a ride to the auto body shop after the rental was dropped off so I wouldn’t have to take a bus or ride share. Much appreciated!!

Quick and professional service. Steven gave us exceptional service!! He was very great at assisting our family and informing us that he was working with another family at the same time.Lindsey was very Amazing in helping to take over so steven can fully attend the family ahead of us. Really disappointing service. I rented a car here through my insurance company and was specifically told that I could have the car delivered to the repair shop. That morning, after the car had not shown up after waiting for 30 minutes, it took me calling several different numbers and many attempts over 20 minutes to speak with a representative. I was then told that I had been not been marked down as needing a rental car delivery.

We have rented from this location twice. Both times they have put us in a vehicle larger than we requested in our reservation. The first time we waited nearly an hour past our reserved time for the vehicle to arrive (from another location). I'm sure most people would appreciate the upgrade, however, we reserved a small vehicle on purpose. It is a rather busy location and they are usually in a hurry to get folks in and out.

I had to use Enterprise because that is what my car insurance provided. Why does a company have "Car" in the name when the company never has any cars? I called asking if they had a smaller vehicle but a guy with an accent said try Wednesday. I called Wednesday and the same man said call Monday. See where I'm going with this? Another male employee behaved as if he couldn't be bothered. The lady was nice though.

Just rented a vehicle for 4 days took about 10 minutes to pick it up and 5 minutes to turn it in, a very quick and positive experience. My wife especially appreciated the car was designated a no smoking vehicle. Will be renting vehicles in the future from the University location, if there are any problems in the future there is another rental agency just 4 blocks away, but for now my preference is Enterprise.

Arrived on time to pick up my car and was given an upgrade which turned out to be very helpful in that I ended up having to load a lot of my family's Christmas packages, etc., as I headed to the mountains for Christmas. The company also set it up at no charge to drop the car off at the airport on the return date which made it very convenient instead of dropping it off at the origination place. Very satisfied.

I shouldn’t have had to ask the store manager twice to call other locations for help replacing a car with bad tags. I shouldn’t have been advised to continue driving a car I had already been pulled over for. Super unempathetic and not willing to help in a crappy situation. I wouldn’t let a stranger continue using a bad vehicle in anyway, let alone a customer. Downtown location recommended over this one.

I recently rented a car for a week from this location and can only say good things. The person checking me in was very friendly, the car was ready on time and immaculate. When I returned the car, the same person took care of the return and again, she had a great attitude and was out of there in mere minutes. If renting a car in Seattle, I would only recommend one place. Enterprise in Roosevelt Way.

Excellent service! They did not hesitate to send a car to pick us up from the train terminal, and the man who picked us up was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the service and the city as well. The vehicle we received was in great condition, and was very clean upon receiving it. Very easy renting process, and this particular location was MUCH cheaper than renting at the airport.

The very best enterprise in Seattle. The shop is always super busy and yet all staff members treat people with respect and take good care of their customers. Personally, Alex helped me through everything. I had my car stolen and he made the process so easy and made a terrible situation a million times better. I can’t say enough good things about Alex and his team. Appreciate everything.

Shady, bad at communicating, obtuse. An auto body shop they work with regularly agreed to pay for a rental car while they fixed a mistake they made. Afterward, Enterprise bungled communication with the shop and wanted to charge me directly. When I called Enterprise and asked them to sort it out with the shop, they told me they were going to send me to collections and affect my credit.

Convenient locations. I was able to rent a car on same day and conveniently change terms of my rental within less than 2 minutes in a different location than the original rental. They also called me on the second day of rental to make sure that I was still pleased with the rental and went out of their way to recover my forgotten sun glasses. Thank you guys, you were great!

I use this Enterprise location regularly for work rentals. The staff are always efficient and friendly to work with. Picking up and drop-off are quick trips, rarely ever had to wait. I'm always in and out and on with my day in no time. It's good to know that there is only limited-time residential street parking nearby, so using the pickup option isn't a bad idea.

Wow, what a great experience! I worked in the auto industry previously, so have high expectations. I was in the car w/in 5 minutes, they set me up with a fantastic vehicle and staff super professional. Was in a car accident, and it had been a tough few weeks mainly because of the driver who was at fault. Was the best part of this whole car accident debacle!

A very positive experience. I booked the rental through Expedia, requesting an AWD vehicle. The car was clean and well equipped with nav system, Bluetooth hands-free, etc. The car was ready when promised and check in took 5 minutes. The after hours return on Sunday was very convenient. I received a detailed receipt early the next morning. Highly recommend!

My favorite rental car location: the staff is helpful, the cars are often upgraded for free. I once got a loaner through them when my car was being repaired, and the insurance company ended up paying half of what was expected -- without any discussion Enterprise cut their charge by half so that it was still 100% covered by the insurance.

I love this location! I have been renting here for two years; the staff that rotates is always stellar. They always went out of their way to save the car model I enjoyed most (Chevy Spark). I am now a car owner, but thank you so much to Austin, Jordan, Allison, Edward, and all the people I met over the years. You guys were the best!

Quick and efficient service and a great selection of cars. It was pretty busy when I came to pick up but Lorilyn and Leigh were handling everything with such grace and professionalism you wouldn’t even notice. They were both so kind and helpful while attending to many demanding guests at the same time, please give them a raise!

Staff was very helpful and communicative. I just wish Enterprise and all rental companies would make sure the dome lights work when you open the door. I never discover that they don't come on until it's pitch black out and I really need them. Never did figure out which secret switch had to be pushed to make them work.

Rental was fine. Roosevelt location Employees speed though adjacent neighborhood 58th ST on a semi regular basis. Some times in the freshly washed cars and some times their personal cars. (I’m a neighbor and a customer of this location) No regard for the family’s or children. Easily going over 45 on the side streets.

This location is wonderful! Nicki, the manager, helped us extend our reservation without much fuss or extreme price increase. I have been to this location twice now and both times Nicki has been very knowledgeable, helpful, and nice. Her staff takes her lead and are also pleasant, knowing when to ask her for help.

The folks here are helpful and responsive. However, be diligent when picking up your car--I checked the back seat and had found trash and mud prints on the fabric seats after I had already driven off. Fortunately, they believed me that it was there before I rented the vehicle and gave me a small discount.

Recently rented a car here for a Seattle/ Mt. Rainier and had a great experience. The young guys working there were awesome and it took less than 10 minute to pick up the car and drive off same with dropping off the car. Everything was smooth and would definitely will stick to enterprise from now.

Great customer service here, I've been going to this location for over 10 years and have never been dissatisfied or frustrated. They usually have a nice selection of cars and will always work to find you a car you like for the rate you chose (or your insurance company allows).

They were great! Rented a one way to Pasco for a meeting then flew out of the Pasco airport. Had a small accident on the hotel parking lot and Enterprise was great... worked directly with my Country Financial Insurance team and problem solved. Only had to pay my deductible.

I've been using Enterprise for years. I love them. I always get a good car, and I've had several--from small sedan to SUV when the family is in town. I can always get a ride quickly to pick up or return the car. They are friendly and eager to please. What more can I say?

Booked a month in advance to find out that they didn't have my car ready (intermediate) so they upgraded me the next tier for free. Bad luck that the vehicle got a flat tire halfway during my visit but the Staff had a same replacement for me ready with no hassle or fees.

I found this to be a generally great business and location. Generally the cars are ready on time: my only suggestion for improvement would be occasionally the car was not ready at the reserved time, but it is understandable given that the staff were busy.

Although there were several customers, the two gentlemen at the office worked quickly to get us into cars. The car I reserved was ready to go. I appreciate that a lot of the "paperwork" was actually on line (I signed on an ipad.) Everything went smoothly.

They were very busy and had some cars with problems. They drove me to another location to pick up the car. They knocked a full day off the rental cost for my delay. They had a problem but they handled it well and the rest went fine.

I was told that the toll fees would be passed on to me at the fee rate and not increased by Enterprise. That was not the case. I was charged $10 for the toll and $7.90 by enterprise for administrative fee.

Very bad customer experience. They are not aware of driving licenses from other states and their rules. They deny renting cars to people from other states, specially from east coast .

Rented a cargo van for a school trip. Service was fine. Gas tank was at 1/8, which is always a problem. They offered me a ride home when returning the van, which was nice.
