If you enjoy the outdoors, Fishweir Park is a perfect place to go and has a myriad of options for just about anyone. Nestled within a beautiful neighborhood, the tree lined park has two full length basketball courts (with four goals on each court and lights for nighttime play). It has a large, modern playground for children. There is a softball/Little League baseball field on the premises, fully equipped with a clay infield as well as dugouts and stands for on-lookers. Inside Fishweir is a large, open-area field, which stretches a few hundred yards each direction. The field is perfect for playing with your dog(s), picnics, football, frisbee, running etc. Lastly, there are strategically placed benches for those who'd like to rest, watch or read. I recommend Fishweir Park to those of all ages.

Used to be able to let your dog off leash early morning to run with other dogs, but a few people complained...so now people just bring their pets late nights
Playground
Lots of events, soccer, baseball, basketball
Dog-friendliness
Used to be a place to meet with neighbors while the dogs ran with each other and played with balls...but a few complainers ruined it for the rest of us

LOVE this park! Every time we've been here its been quiet, only a hand full of people (if any.) Most of the children's equipment is well shaded so its not in the direct sun. Basket ball courts, soccer field, I've seen people here flying their drones/ RC airplanes. There's a handicap swing, thought the straps are missing. Not sure if there's restrooms here, I've not seen any.

Good neighborhood park. Has a playground and a couple of basketball courts with multiple hoops to play full or half court games. Has a baseball field with dugouts. There are all kinds of benches throughout the entire park. An enormous grassy field makes up the remainder of the park. Also seems to have lights to illuminate activities after dark.

Beautiful neighborhood park! Quiet, never crowded, dogs and their humans enjoy the park while little ones play on the playground. Basketball court, baseball diamond with dugouts & bleachers, and a huge open field perfect for football, soccer, or tossing a frisbee! Makes for a Lovely afternoon!

This park is very beautiful and quality place. I love to take my daughter and wife here just to have a picnic or just enjoy the day. Unlike some parks around Jacksonville where unwanted solicitors will hang out this park has none and is mostly visited by parents and folks like me.

Very nice park. Baseball field is well kept. Nice open space for dogs to run. Playground for the kids. Picnic tables with shade from the large trees. Basketball court with chain nets. Walking trail. No bathrooms here. Only complaint was trash on the grounds near the road.

Quiet, lesser known park in the Avondale area. It has a large field, basketball court, and playground. The playground area is always well shaded which is nice for kids in the summer. It is not as nice as Boone Park but still a great option.

Such a great little park! We love walking out 10 month old here to play on the baby swing and to see other kids. Since its so close to the Shops at St. John's we'll get an ice cream after the park. It's a great experience when we go.

It's a good park. Lots of space. Upsetting that someone vandalized the playground equipment and occasionally you get the Karen mom's who expect you to let their kids run feral regardless of whether that endangers your kid.

  • Alexandrina Sierra

Great park! Quiet, intimate, safe, and green! The kids had a great time and it's a beautiful view and break from the cityscape. Basketball courts, baseball diamond, soccer field, playground, and perfect for hide and seek!

Really nice park that is tucked away inside a pretty quiant neighborhood. It has a baseball field, two basketball courts and a wide open field along with a few bench place throughout. Great place to plan a family outing.

We love this park. It has a great playground and large open spaces plus a basketball court. The playground equipment is mostly well maintained and the park is clean. My kids love playing here and often request it.

  • Ayron Wilson

The park is a nice friendly atmosphere for the family where you can cookout, play, basketball, soccer, or X Games. But the only thing is making sure the place is lit up after dark and clean up throughout the week.
