"One of my favourite parks"
"Excellent little park and fishing pond"
I bring my partners kids here as an excuse to have a go on the swings and to rag it around on the roundabout. Sure, I'm 36. But swings are ace. I hope one day to go right over the top so I can put a photo of it on my Tinder bio and get pyar birds. I'm dead good on the jungle gym now. Sure, my feet touch the ground when I'm on it but I think that 8 year old was jealous when I got across faster than him. In your face Timmy. It's actually a well maintained play area. Not massive, but adjacent to the fantastic cafe and the rest of the park is lovely. Helps burn some of the energy off when I pick the kids up from school
This is one of the smaller parks in Liverpool and very close to Penny Lane and Spire Hospital it houses a beautiful Marie Curie garden that is so peaceful. It also provides a swing park for children, with a lovely view of the lake which attracts various species of ducks etc.. especially the Canada Geese and beautiful Swans. This past week a new cafe/ bistro has opened called The Watering Can which caters for all varieties of food / drinks, well behaved dogs are also welcome here, it's still a work in progress but a little jewel in a lovely setting.
Beautiful park with loads of ducks and geese. I took my 2 year old and it was a bit worrying because the lake is not fenced off but that wouldn't be as picturesque but safer for little ones. I'll probably stick to sefton park until she's old enough to be a bit safer around water.the cafe was lovely too. The park was good too. Not too busy in the park but still had a lot of life in it. The cafe had a queue but the service was good and they had a good selection for vegans. Overall a lovely day out.
One of my favourite parks. Small intimate. Open space. Thee is also slabs of tiles for bbqs so the ground doesn't get ruined. Place for kids to play in the corner so kids can have fun but also adults can be other side of park and not hear them if want to be away from them. Park for everyone. Not much shade though except on the edges. I haven't been to the coffee shop but there is always queues so they must be doing something correctly.
Excellent little park and fishing pond. We found that there were very friendly, open people in the park. The experience as I waited for a hospital appointment was truly cathartic. The Caffè its staff and offerings are beyond words. If you haven't found this little gem yet, you have something to look forward to. The picture I have posted with this review sort of speaks volumes....
Lovely park, there are swans, ducks, Canadian geese and the odd terrapin there. It has a swing park and a small quiet gated area next to the swing park. Where you could go and sit to remember you lost loved ones and leave messages. But they have now built a cafe there. We'll worth a visit. It was originally owned by th Rathbones and they bequeathed it to the people of Liverpool.
After eating at The Watering Can, we took a walk around the garden and into Greenbank Park. It was beautiful evening, the ducks and the Canadian geese were grooming and settling down for the night. We carried on around the lake to see many anglers perched by the lakeside waiting patiently. It was quiet enough to sit on the grass and read a great novel or simply chill out.
Another lovely park in Liverpool, with a duck pond ideal for taking children to on afternoons or weekends, plenty of birds to feed. There's also a smaller walled garden with rows of lavender that have the best smell around. Lots of bees too if you're an insect lover. Ideal starting point on a walk to Sefton Park, or a post breakfast walk after visiting the Watering Can.
Fantastic park usually it's really clean and litter free. Very nice lake in the middle for some fishing I think carp and possibly roach It has a cafe at the entrance which is ok, the coffee is good but unfortunately the food isn't what it used to be Hopefully this will improve again All in all its a great park and you won't be thirsty or hungry with the cafe
Greenbank Park means so much to me now. It didn't so much when my mum was alive. It was her favourite place The place she'd go alone on a random bike ride after work. Or even before just before, to feed the ducks, birds and squirrels. She loved them. Just as she loved all of nature's beauty and simplicity. I love you Greenbank park. I love you Mum x
Playground for kids is great with equipment suitable for variety of ages, beautiful ornamental fenced gardens you can explore with little ones (no dogs allowed in gardens or playground) and lake with footpath all around loads of birds and parkbenches. Cafe onsite (we didn't explore this!). Only thing I would say is that there is no public toilets.
Love this little park. Ducks, geese, swans, even seen terrapins in the water. Great hidden gardens, really nice little playground though I personally feel the climbing frame not really suited to tiny ones. And the new restaurant is a lovely addition with lovely fancy dishes, ice-cream bar, and even taps and bowls for the four legged friends.
Believe it or not - this was our first visit to the park. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk around the park and did take time to watch the children having a great time in the play area. Absolutely brilliant park and beautiful Watering Can cafe!! We will be back soon!! After being regular visitors to Sefton Park for many years!!
Could do with a bit of a trim and tidy up, but knowing me I probably went the day before the parks and gardens crew hit the place and I'm fussy, but well worth a visit, got some new stuff at the South side of the park, but I didn't get that far, someone said it was a new cafe, go check it out and let me know for next time.
One of the smaller parks in Liverpool but beautiful for all that. Fishing lake with good amount of birds, saw grey heron as well as swans, geese and ducks. Children's play area ideal for my three year old grandson. There's also now a lovely bistro/cafe next to the children's play area. Also a beautiful walled garden.
A lovely little park with a play area for young kids and a small lake to walk round. This time of year (Autumn) the colours of the trees is brilliant, there's tons of leaves on the ground and there's also lots of ducks, geese and other birds. Plus, at the entrance to the park, there's the wonderful Watering Can café.
Lovely park if a bit on the small side. Has a nice lake which is frequented by anglers and often contains many types of water fowl. There is some sloped grassy space and a small play area that is well equipped but a little worn out. There is also a garden but it seems to be closed whenever we visit.
Love Greenbank Park. It is small, you can let young children run around and they stay in sight. Love the Wild life and also flower garden for peace, great play area for young children - fab lake. Been going there for over 50 years - when my children were young and now with my grandchild .
Nice atmosphere plenty of people out enjoying the sun. Not much litter which was good to see looks like the litters pickers had been out earlier. Ornamental Gardens were very nicely presented. Be nice to get access to the cafe from the gardens. Lovely meeting place with friends and family
There is always noisy leaf blowers all year round spoiling the atmosphere. The head is cut too close to the trees, harming baby birds and limiting insect life. Other than that, it is a beautiful park and it's nice to see the cormarants visit (when you can hear yourself think that is)
The park is very nice but it could be kept a little bit more maintained. In some areas the park has a lot of litter, that could all be prevented as there are very accessible bin. The geese, ducks and squirrels and very friendly. I go there very often and it's a good small park. …
Nice park to walk around and very popularin the summer months were people enjoy sitting out and bringing picnics. There is also a cafe open daily serving a wide range of drinks and food very nice. Parking is at the side of the road and there are good public transport links.
Great place to go during and when the pandemic is over. Good children's play area and a hostelry doing take away food and drink. Also a nice area were dogs are not allowed for those people who like a quiet walk without dogs near them, though it is not a very large area.
A great place to get some fresh air, take a walk, go for a run, or play together with your kids or dogs. I also saw some people fishing, so you could do that too, if it's something you're into. I loved the tiny ponds with the beautiful birds and plants.
Lovely lake and secret garden, nice walk but not very big. Swing park for the kids needs updating and a bit of maintenance but it's decent despite this. The Watering Can cafe in the park serves delicious savoury and sweet things but is overpriced.
It is a lovely park with a beautiful walled garden. Unfortunately the cafe has encroached on this with its windows, smell and noisy air conditioning unit. It used to be a place for the recently bereaved to take solitude without being stared at.
Great place for children to play, to walk the dog , meet a friend. There is a cafe which overlooks the park, close to local amenities if the weather is nice and you want a picnic. There is a lake so you will often see wildlife/ birds, ducks..
Our local. Beautiful in every season. A great play area for children, a lovely rose garden to sit and relax in and a great new cafe that offers excellent breakfasts, lunches and ice creams. A welcome break from the busier Sefton Park.
Great little park with a little lake with birds and fish. Excellent for dogs and children. There is a lovely play area and great cafe (The Watershed) for eating in and take away coffee. There is also a garden area which is dog free.
This is a great little park which has good memories for me as I used to take my kids here. It's only small but has a lake for fishing swans and ducks. It also has a lovely walled garden. Great place to walk my dog and relax.
The Watering Can have clearly built up a loyal clientele and are safely offering take away snacks and beverages. The lake walk was rather boggy in places and paths in the walled garden were icy but still worth a visit
Went fishing here 28/7/23 had no luck but a nice 5 hours just sitting in the sun. Park clean lots of pepole walking their dogs and kids playing ball games all in all good morning out will be back if the weather is ok
Beautiful Park with a lovely park for children to enjoy. Nice stroll. You can also get hot food hot drinks and much more from the watering can. We travelled to the other sideof liverpool to visit and well worth it.
Great little Park, parking not great but if can find a spot well worth a visit on a sunny afternoon. Ideal picnic location. We parked here had a walk round the park then walked through to Sefton Park for a walk.
Lovely little park with a beautiful lake with plenty of ducks and geese to feed. There's a playground for children and a place to get a cuppa close by. It's a park to relax in rather than try and play any sports
One of Liverpools many parks. Always clean and a nice playground for the kids. Nice to see the variety of birds here. Great place to spend a couple of hours and don't give the cafe a miss. We'll worth the visit
Love this park! Because it is only small it can be maintained more easily than the larger parks. Has lots of beautiful wildlife, trees and is normally peaceful and quiet, perfect for an early afternoon stroll.
Bit of a boring park, but then again I went in winter. Not much interesting foliage, but it does what it says on the tin. Plenty of benches for bird-watching, a park for children, and space for dogs to play.
A new find for us. I knew about the park but not how nice it is! The lake was teeming with geese and moor hens and ducks and 1 lonely swan. The garden where dogs are not allowed is lovely and peaceful.
Lovely little park with nice lake. Very clean and quiet - slightly hilly so no room for ball games which should suit many. Great for spending time there and chilling out. Take your own drinks though
Great little park. Well used without being overly busy. Families with little ones in the playground. Few fishing around the small lake. Plenty of dog walkers and people just enjoying the fresh air.
Good park, has a cool cafe there @Watering Can. The lake is nice and often has a Heron knocking about. It's much more quiet than the nearby larger Sefton Park, so is a great place to walk your dog.
Lucky to have this park in my doorstep. Spent many happy days feeding the ducks, and playing in the kids playground. The walled garden is lovely, and the new cafe is definitely a welcome addition.
Beautiful park with a Lake. Been searching for a natural space in Liverpool since the day I reached, finally found one. Had to walk more than 1.5 miles to reach there and it was totally worth it.
Nice enough little park nothing special. Brought back memories from my youth. If you eat from the cafe there you'll need plenty of money. The food is ok not worth the extortionate prices though.
Great little restaurant at Greenbank Park. Cosy and friendly. My wife loves the onion soup. Reminds her of when her Mum used to make it. The food is nice and tasty. The prices are reasonable.
Lovely small park, great for little kids, and also a place to relax with older ones. Have loved this place since my mum brought me here when I was very young. Much nicer now as well!
Really nice place to walk, with lots of wildlife, ducks and canadian geese, and lots of different birds ands and squirrels! Fantastic little cafe, with a fab little hit chocolate xx
First and last visit, park was very dirty with a lot of dog dirt on paths and grass area's. Long wait for food at the Watering Can which was not worth the high prices they charge.
Lovely place to visit. Well worth a trip out to look at. Very special green space within a massive built up area. There is also a new café that makes a visit even more worthwhile.
First visit back to this park for many years. The walled garden is beautiful. The cafe looked great but it was busy. Look forward to trying it during the week when its less busy.
Lovely little park in the middle of Allerton. The cafe in the park is a great addition, perfect for getting a coffee while you have a stroll round the park and feed the ducks.
First time here ... beautiful park and people so friendly.. we went to the watering can for a spot of lunch.... Again the staff were lovely ... Well worth a visit... …
Really nice, good amount of wildlife as well. Lots of benches and also a little cafe within the park. Fair bit of drama going on with the cafe and neighbourhood though...
Great park, lovely lake and a nice size with plenty of parking around it. Only lacks a real play area for kids, but they can have fun feeding the ducks or chasing a ball
Lovely park. Great walled garden, kids Playground, lake, greenery and a lovely new restaurant called the potting shed. Also has nice ice cream stall. Well worth a visit
Beautiful little park, with everything you need! Lake, trees, gardens and now a fab café on hand. Autumn is my favourite season here, but it's lovely all year round
Small tranquil park. Small lake, with areas for fishing, formal gardens, play area and the Watering can, just on edge of park. Kept clean and tidy not busy either
Love this park. Nice walks around the lake with the added bonus the Watering Can was open for takeaways. Be good when the ornamental garden will be open again.
Mind the duck poo, all over the grass between the food hut and gate to the park, from main road. Take a chair or ground cover. Other wise nice chill location.
Fantastic little park, with a beautiful walled garden. Watering Can restaurant, impressed with the decor and food and they were covid aware 5 stars from me.
Nice for a stroll round the lake. And visit the Oriental garden which has seen a lot of work done to it. Watering Can cafe/restaurant is well worth a visit
Well maintained medium sized park, large lake, rest lawned and mature trees. Good tarmac footpaths. Small play area. Handy cafe next to one entrance.
Great small Park, small lake for fishing, small fenced play area for young children. 2 picnic tables and a walled garden full of beautiful flowers.
Beautiful park surrounding a huge lake! Small children's play area accompanied by a small cafe. Lots of greenery about and plenty of ducks about!
Nice sized park to walk round with lots of wildlife, ducks, waterfowl, Canadian geese and pigeons. A play area for children and an excellent cafe
It's a smaller version of Sefton park. The lake is home to ducks, swans & herons. First time I've seen a muscovy duck in a tree though.
Lovely small park with a lake and play area. Cafe is more boutique than cheap and cheerful - but really lovely and worth the extra.
Nice but expensive. Extensive range of flowers but very little veggies.
Playground
Good playground for older children.
Lovely small park. Lots of bird life and a nice cafe within it. Sefton Park nearby if you fancy going for a longer walk
A nice little park with lovely places to sit off and the amazing Watering Can cafe attached. Definitely worth a visit.
Love this park, it's good for all ages swing park there flower garden very pretty, lake to feed ducks, overall fab
A small but lovely park, with a lake, lots of ducks, a nice playground and a great, well-maintained walled garden.
Lovely small park nice lake, birds, cafe, child's playground, lads caught a very large carp fish when we were there.
Lovely eclectic little park, really enjoyed an afternoon walk there with my partner and our Jack Russell Oscar x
Lovely small park with ducks and play area. Must be good for fishing because there's always someone fishing too
Been coming here since I was a kid the first photo I ever took was here - still lovely as ever
Great park, lovely lake with bird life and a good cafe. You'll enjoy your visit here. We did.
Lovely walk around the lake lots of birds, plants and seats to sit and enjoy the view.
Beautiful and peaceful place for a stroll, and even mindfulness if you fancy it
Lovely park and duck pond with the watershed and potting shed for refreshments
