Sefton Park was always on our 'to do' list but never got round to but on a visit to Liverpool we made the trip to it and it was worth it. Even though it was late in the day (late afternoon) there were still plenty of people around. This park is MASSIVE! You can drive the full circumference of it and either park on the street or in the handful of carparks dotted around.... All free! We parked not far from the very impressive lake. There was a little, quaint cafe selling refreshments. Lots of wildlife on the lake itself to sit & enjoy and just chill while the world passes you by. The Palm House is not far but unfortunately as time was getting on it was closed. Lots more places to see, Eros's Fountain, Oasis Cafe, the bandstand and probably a lot more if we had all day. All in all well worth a visit to jyst enjoy its beauty. Will be visiting again, just a lot earlier in the day. Highly recommend
This was only the 2nd time in years that I have visited this park. I want to add a note that the reason for my lack of visits to the park, is purely down to travelling to get there as it’s not local for me. I’d recently changed my camera and I couldn’t think of a better place to test it, than Sefton Park, especially now we’re into Autumn (my favourite season ) The place seemed very well taken care of. With plenty of seating around the park, there is always the opportunity to sit off, rest your legs (if you need to) and enjoy the view. The abundance of wildlife and the views make this a great place for families, couples, lone walkers etc. At the start or end of your walk around the park, there is a lovely coffee shop on site, prices are reasonable and coffee tastes great. On site you can also visit the Palm House, a beautiful and elegant piece of architecture that is definitely not to be missed.
Very well maintained large park in South Liverpool. Roughly 4k perimeter. Regular festivals and running events are held. There is the Victorian glass palm house which has lovely plants and sculptures. The large pond was restored a few years ago and has maintained its glory along with an abundant bird habitat. People with wheelchairs can still access most of the park. In the evenings there are no gates that close access and low level lamps light pathways. Addition info of facilities include: Two cafes. Tennis courts. Crown green bowls. Cricket centre. City cycle hires (4points). Exercise points. Lit pathways for runners which include exercise points such as pull up bars and sit ups. There are 3 or 4 free small car parks however parking is allowed and free to most of the perimeter. .
We spend a relaxing afternoon strolling through the park ️ It was great seeing lots of families and little ones feeding the birds ducks and Canadian geese. The grass trees and flowers look stunning. I imagine it takes an army of people to keep the grounds so immaculate The high light of the day was soaking up the atmosphere in The Palm House. We were greeted by one of the lovely volunteers who gave us a free Event Guide and some general information. Later on we stopped off at the Cafe for lunch. Staff were friendly and polite. The food was great and served quite quickly. So glad we finally got around to coming to Sefton Park A day spent around nature is always good for the soul
Really worth a visit to Sefton Park, This magnificent 235 acre park is a Grade 1 historic park in the Sefton Park district of Liverpool. It is a Green Flag and Green Heritage awarded site with beautiful features and monuments. An angling permit is required if fishing in the boating lake. Theirs two cafes and an ice cream kiosk and toilets in various locations. The park is used for various activities and events including cycling/walking/ running there is also some exercise equipment fitted around the park that anyone can use, they also have a cricket pitch. Really lovely park well worth a visit to distress and take in the scenery.
A few years ago I used to here regularly and have recently been again. A wonderful park with lots to do with all the family or just wandering through by yourself. The palm house is very beautiful to visit. There's lots of different attractions on throughout the year. Lots of open space and water features, a great space for everyone. Including the dogs they have their own ice cream at the cafe!! The cafe has a great choice for many, oh!, and you can buy ice cream for yourselves too Sorry the dogs aren't allowed in the Palm House and also they are not allowed through the gates leading into the palm house grounds.
Playground is great, range of things for kids to do, its the people that go there especially early on that are the problem, dog wise as long as you have a small to medium size one your fine, anything else and you will hear about it, toilets (also baby change and disabled access) are available, the cafe they are adjacent to, well you can take your chances if you want but they will NEVER get another penny from me or any members of my family. Festivals are nice which are held at the park and the group who take on the clean ups (volunteer group, think Friends of Sefton Park on twittter) do invaluable work.
Had a stroll around Sefton Park which was surprisingly pleasant given the time of year and the amount of flood water around. Lots of paths were flooded but we managed to find a route through the park. There are several areas to park for free around the border of the park. There are lots of ponds and water features to wander around and big fields which are great in summer time. There is a cafe serving snacks and coffee at one end. There’s also the restored Victorian palm house to see plus several other monuments. It’s a great park not far from the centre of Liverpool.
Massive Victorian city park. Spacious green areas, lakes, ponds, bandstands and seating areas. Cafe and Palm House located near the centre of the park. Multiple pathways meander around the park. Full of wildlife. Friends of Sefton Park do an amazing job in keeping the park litter-free and clean. Free parking surrounded the park at multiple points. Can get busy, especially on warm/hot days.
Playground
Multiple children's play areas within the park.
Restrooms
Next to the central cafe.
Dog-friendliness
Dogs are abundant at the park.
I was in Liverpool for a few days last week and although the weather was dull and rainy me and my mate decided to have a walk through Sefton Park and stop for a coffee in their lovely cafe. I'm a Londoner and it's quite easy, and a little lazy of us, to assume everything is better here; it's not as this beautiful park proves. I would loved to have had more time to revisit, and indeed I did try to get back, but it just wasn't possible in the limited time available. I think it's the best park I've ever been to and I hope to return one day.
A beautiful park, with a bird-filled lake, wide, tree-lined avenues, and a playground. The playground is in need of a bit of tlc, but the kids still love it. The palm house is lovely to visit and have a wonder around, especially in the cold. It's also great for a coffee and cake at the cafe inside, or the van outside when that's closed. The other main cafe in the park is perfect for an ice cream and you can get a bag of duck food there too (also has toilets). It's worth visiting in spring to see the huge fields of daffodils.
The park was well maintained. Plenty of things to see. Fountains, walks, cafes, bandstand (however not accessible presently) , Peter Pan statue, large chess board. The palm house has been renovated and there are plenty of volunteers available to show people around and point things of interest out to you. There is no charge but they do suggest you donate a small fee. We spent between 2 to 3 hours there. Plenty of parking available. One thing I was disappointed with was the toilets they could do with some maintainence.
This park is well kept and huge! You can have a picnic, meet friends and have a drink on the grass, walk the dogs. There are plenty of bins for you to use and Sefton park hosts great events like runs and music shows like Africa Oye.
Playground
There are tennis courts and a big playground with disability friendly swings for wheelchair users. There are also ping pong tables and chess boards.
Dog-friendliness
It is like coming to a dog show every time you visit - there are so many different breeds.
Had a great walk out at Sefton Park. Really good place to visit. Lovely lakeside walk with all the autumnal colours at this time of the year. The location has good amenities with two cafe's and public toilets. The park is also dog friendly and has a really nice bandstand. The cafe staff were very friendly. In addition there is the Victorian Palm House that has regular exhibitions that are usually very interesting. Currently there is an exhibition for the poet Edward Lear. Well worth a visit!
Wonderful park There are plenty of paths to walk around amid the greenaries. There's a pond in the middle of the park. You can feed to the ducks and swans there. If you need a coffee or eat something there's a coffee shop too. And a separate children's play area
Playground
Separate children's play area
Restrooms
There are a couple of rest rooms One besides the coffee shop and the other close to the pond
Dog-friendliness
All dogs are welcome even without their leashes
Massive park lots to do and see. Quite often have events on of some sort or another and so park is well used. This was a lights festival with floating buildings on the lake. They were lit up when dark and background music played and poems read out over sprakers. Also large animals and flowers were in the grounds of the palm house which also lit up. But a £7 charge per person applied to see these lit up. All bins were overflowing even before the crowds arrived. But still a great day out
There is so much to see and do here. Loads of different paths to go down and explore. There is a large play park for children, a table tennis part aswell as the main tennis courts, the palm house, 2 cafes with amazing ice cream, lots of historical statues, a massive lake where you can feed the ducks, swans and geese (food can be bought at one of the cafes) and massive fields for picnics, games of football etc. There is also some beautiful waterfalls and stepping stones to go over.
Lovely park to walk around. There is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy whatever they want to do, walk, cycle jog or general exercises. It is dog friendly and has two café. The lake has a path all around it, and has plenty of wild birds on it. The park is steeped in history. It has a Palm House which can be booked for weddings or other functions. This time of the year the trees have their autumn colour's and look spectacular.
Great place to visit for long or short walk or have a barbecue on big field, ice cream in the centre of park or by the lake. Toilets including baby change cabin situated in centre of park. You can fishing in big lake also. Palm house open for everyone in most time, events are often as well. Everyone can find something for himself. Well maintained and clean. Highly recommended.
I went to party at Sefton Park Hotel and it was absolutely amazing. Building and setting is gorgeous. We arrived to a reception upstairs with light bites and drinks. Then we moved down to the dining room where there was a buffet and music . Food was great, service at the bar was really fast. Out door area was lovely. Staff were really friendly. Will definitely be back.
A fantastic park with a large lake. Great for walking, running and just enjoying the outdoors. There’s a small cafe in the centre of the park as well as a small shop that also sells coffee and food at the edge of the lake near the main entrance. The Sefton Palm house is located near the centre and offers a small cafe as well as often showcasing crafts and small events.
Went to Sefton park not been for years. It was a clean park an a beautiful park. There was something for everyone. Dog walkers, couples, families, singletons everyone just enjoying the sunshine. Picnics, bikes & wheelchair users. We parked up no bother on the road, plenty of spaces. Also took a walk over to Lark Lane for a coffee.
A beautiful park, with plenty of space for walks, nature, playing and picnics. The Palm House is simply stunning, and a magnificent piece of Victorian design, with wonderful statues surrounding it. Whilst at Sefton Park, don't forget to visit the Fairy Glen. Be careful though, as the stepping stones can be rather slippy when wet.
This park in the south if the city is fantastic. Used by families, dog walkers, joggers... a fantastic area with great walks and large areas just to sit kn the grass and have a picnic. Ducks and geese on the lake with seating to just sit in the sun and watch.... a fantastic area well worth a visit. And it doesn't cost a penny!
I worked as a photographer at Sefton Park and was blown away by how gorgeous the park is, I did the engagement shoot in autumn and the light and all the fallen golden leaves gave the shoot such a romantic, magical feel, I would highly recommend this park to any photographers or couples looking to get some photos.
A lovely park which is just a short drive from the city centre. Plenty to do for both adults and kids, with numerous play grounds, sports areas, a visit to the palm house, or walk around the lake. Very popular place to visit in all weather, and beautiful in all four seasons. Love coming here after work to chill.
What a lovely place! Beautiful, big park with lots of paths, benches and playing area, ideal for long family walks, jogging, picnics, time off to recharge yourself or relax. You can enjoy the company of beautiful colourful flowers, trees, squirrels, ducks and more. The car park near by.
Very pleasant place to be, specially along the lake fishing and having a quiet peaceful time,, but the park toilets need maintenance

Amazing city park, great to walk in and around. You can even spend the whole day there with your family having a BBQ. Two cafes and lots of great walks and lakes and streams. Africa Oye also uses the park as its venue as well as lots of other events. World class park.
It's a big park in Liverpool. Showing photos is one end. There is a lake. Lots of area for walking, cycling, and kids scooters. Also cricket matches and a botanical garden inside. Lots of free parking areas surrounded. Toilets and refreshment stalls in some areas.
I would like to share my delight after visiting this beautiful park. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Here every detail is thought out, the atmosphere is full of peace, and the green lawns and flowerbeds create an incredibly beautiful landscape.
Lovely park to visit, lots of green space, grass trees and flower beds..there is also a lake running through it..I highly recommend going tobthe greenhouse at the centre of the park. Also you might meet some lovely dogs along the way..:)
Beautiful Park always something going on. It's always busy with people enjoying the outside space. But look carefully to find lovely secluded walks, you could be anywhere in the countryside. Very lucky to have such a lovely park on our doorstep.
This is definitely the best park in Liverpool ( in my opinion), there is alot of space and tree areas for pets and even play areas for kids. The park is well maintained and the animals are very friendly. At times the squirrels will even eat
Great place to take the family It is kept very well, neat and tidy. Good selection of plants.and wildlife . Even has X2 cafes . Very nice to walk through any time of the year Also there is cave and a bridge, watch out for the troll!
The jewel in Sefton Park's crown. Don't miss this gorgeous building stuffed with exotic palms and plants, a nice cafe, friendly staff, and maybe even an afternoon or evening concert, or other activities. The park is top drawer too!
Beautiful park in the city of Liverpool. Amazing tall trees and a lot of plants to watch and walk throughout it. I spent there about an hour with my son and i didn't got bored. There is kids playground, lakes, and a river!!
Sefton Park the lungs of Liverpool its an amazing place for getting fresh air into the body and releasing stress. The nature of the park there is always something of interest to photograph. Best place to go for a blow out.
The park was vast with lots open spaces and tree lined pathways. We visited the park to visit the palm house for a coffee in their cafe and to get some pictures of the exotic plants. Lovely and peaceful. Plenty of parking
Nice large park. Grassy areas for games. A nice walk through the trees and around the lake. Cafe and toilets at either end. Decent sized play area for kids with tennis courts and table tennis. Lots of free parking around.
Actually a nice green oasis in the middle of the otherwise busy Liverpool streets. To our disappointment the palm house was closed off due to a wedding but it was nonetheless worth the trip before heading on to Lark Lane
Attended africa oye today the experience was really welcoming and heart felt , wish i would of took my camping gear and made a day of it . Felt it needed more of a police presence though being such a big event
Nice walk around the park, gardens, waterways and playground and saw Green Parakeets and Squirrels! Clean, litter and dog mess free in the main! 7 miles in around 3 hours. Amazing but, kids; 10 & 13 NOT BORED!
Beautiful and vast park with lovely alleys, trees, and a lake with lots of ducks and swans. To top it all there was a nice café and an Italian bistro beside it at good prices right in the middle of the park.

You've just gotta love this park. Designed by Capability Brown and enjoyed by many people all year round. I noticed last week that the Palmhouse appears in the 2019 BBC - War of the Worlds!
I have spent many happy hours in Sefton Park, it is one of the best parks in the city. Look out for events in the glasshouse and make sure you visit when all of the daffodils are in bloom.
