This is a very late review! Ive been to Brut many Fridays, it is such a great place to catch up with friends and have a glass of wine. Pearse very kindly planned a small group wine tasting for me and my work colleagues at the end of May. Pearse was so lovely to deal with and this resulted in a fantastic evening! We did a tasting of 7 wines and they were all different to your usual malbec, pinot grigio. It was great to try differnet things and Pearse gave us an education on wine making but also gave us tips on storing wine and how to pick a good bottle in a restaurant and not get ripped off! We also had some lovely nibbles with our wine. Brut is such a gem and if you're around Drumcondra on a Friday night you should 100% drop in!

Hi there. I'm a student from Dorset College, in the same building, and my break time is usually between 11am and 12pm. But the breakfast menu finishes at 11 and the lunch menu starts at 12. So all the students have to go somewhere else to eat, because the Café doesn't serve any food on our lunch time. It's actually not a complain, it's more like an advise, cause we could be spending money here in this Cafe which is much more easy for us to access than having to go somewhere else. By the way the food is delicious. I'm not usually impressed by food, but I have to say that the chicken sandwich I had here was sooooo amazing. I could easily say it's the best chicken sandwich I ever had.

Popped in for what turned out to be an excellent cup of coffee and a tea pot of excellent tea (and china cup & saucer - bravo!) Home made cake - chocolate straw for me and a banana & poached pear sponge cake for my companion. She loved it. Bit of a sentimental journey for her as we were sat enjoying this in the former sacristy of the one time Sacred Heart Children’s Home… We found the food & drink to be reasonably priced - especially for Dublin - so surprised by the ‘pricey’ comment below.
Came yesterday hoping for some food as a friend recommended. Unfortunately they don't serve food on Sunday, but lovely young woman working was very friendly and welcoming . Delicious coffee and nice decor inside. Hopefully I will be back to Nellys for some breakfast when the time comes! Thankyou .

A DIY, independent atmosphere with a solid, compact breakfast/lunch menu. French toast, their fry and dessert options are all delicious. Every suburb of Dublin needs a great little cafe like Nelly's for a weekend sitdown. Also has tables out in the sun for those rare, treasured days.
I can't stop thinking about this salad. It's the perfect mix of fresh, warm, cold, crunchy...so good and great coffee too

Great food, great service and the most amazing staff. It was so good to see 2 of my students who are visually impaired being guided out to the footpath by 2 members of staff, with great care and attention. Can't say enough, great spot. 100%

Nice, quirky spot for a snack or light lunch. A few niggles though; staff handling food need better hygene awareness (hair nets would be a good start), pastries a bit hit-and-miss. Still, a pleasant place and I will visit again.
Had lunch there, pasta salad and coffee with a cinnamon bun. Very nice lunch/coffee spot in a small oasis next to the busy Drumcondra Road. Only the tables and some of the cutlery weren’t totally clean… I’ll be back!
a great little local spot that does fabulous sandwiches / lunch! the menu changes regularly, so it’s always interesting. probably the best lunch option around

Gave us a giant teapot with only a third filled with water. Brought us the wrong item for breakfast and made no apology to discount or refund for their mistake. Food was only ok. Definitely nicer spots around.
Could be oh so much better, woke staff need to realise customers are more important than their staff colleagues. Too much staff chat and flirting.

Delicious food, brilliant staff, and attentive service. One of my favourite spots to grab a toastie and coffee. Lovely atmosphere too! Also the brownie was probably the best I ever had. 10/10!!
Fantastic spot for coffee/lunch, especially kind to vegetarians. Salads are tasty and innovative and the place is full of old world character. Staff are wonderful too. Eat here!
Good quality breakfast I had, portions are massive, and I'm 6'7" 19 stone. Small and quaint with outside seating. Staff friendly, and prices are reasonable …
Nice, cosy restaurant with a vaguely hipster atmosphere that serves great coffee, pastries and breakfasts. Good place to read the paper on a weekend morning.
Best veggie sandwich I’ve had in a good while. Delicious bread and finally something creative and tasty (instead of the usual mozzarella and pesto filling)
Love Nellys. They have the best sandwich specials and lovely coffee. The click and collect has got me through lockdown. Brunch is always good too!
The sandwiches are amazing, halloumi, egg, Sriracha - one of the most delicious I've had, ever. Couldn't recommend more. Staff also really nice.
A great independent neighbourhood cafe. Good coffee, great food and incredibly friendly staff plus just the right amount of quirkiness ;-).
Delicious breakfast of smoked fish today. As a coeliac they don't have gluten free bread but can accommodate things on the menu. Yum
Broad bean hummus is delicious. Added a cup of soup which was curried cauliflower and also very tasty. Friendly welcoming staff.
Great healthy food and service. Always go on a match day in Croke park before game. Sometimes need more staff on for busy times.
Lovely menu, tasty food and coffee! querky little cafe. Surrounded by other quite lovely little shops .... Will be back soon
Great coffee and awesome food. They open only for breakfast and lunch. They also have cakes and pastry for after lunch time.
Friendly staff, and cute lil spot perfect for brunch! Highly recommend. Didn't expect to find such place in Drumcondra!
Great staff, food and just an all round good place to sit and have a chat and coffee. Brownies are amazing
