I rented a car from this location for less than 24 hrs just to get to a few customers while I was in town for work. The pickup day the staff were polite and I had a lovely conversation with them. They did their best to provide me a clean vehicle by cleaning it right before I left and I was happy. However the next day was a different story. I returned the car the next morning and during check-in the manager at the counter claimed I drove the car through hail and damaged the hood. I said that was impossible because I drove the vehicle on a perfectly clear day and parked in my hotels underground parking during the night. He argued with me that I clearly didn't. He then claimed I drove over 600 kms...in about 12 hrs...even though I only drove across Edmonton and back for a customer visit that morning. He continued to argue with me and I said that I would be disputing his claims. I even asked him if he had seen any hail in the past 12 hrs and he admitted he did not. He did a little more digging and realized his staff inputted the wrong vehicle into their system under my rental and the hail damage and kms were from another customer. Mistakes happen, but the attitude I got when I questioned his information was completely uncalled for. Your management needs to check themselves. In the end he "apologized" for the mistake but added a little jab in by saying I should have noticed the hail damage and said something so the blame was partially on me as well. He added "but I'm not allowed to say who else is to blame..." I'd recommend taking business elsewhere that appreciates their customers a little more.

I was torn between giving a 3 or 4 star review but the only real issue we had was that we rented a small economy car as we were traveling out of town and wanted something better on gas than our vehicle. When we showed up in the morning all they had that was smaller than an SUV was a Mustang. We ended up taking the Mustang because it was still going to be a bit better on feul than our vehicle. But it almost defeated the purpose of us renting a vehicle and nearly through off our time schedule to get to where we were going. The service was really good and the man that was helping us explained that what ever shows up in the lot when they open is what they have to give, even though they do put a request in to recieve the types of vehicles people have rented for that location. The process of renting is pretty simple and quick if you have what's needed. They only take credit cards, no cash or debit. Rental it includes one driver, it costs extra to add additional drivers. They charge over $3/leter feul if you don't return the vehicle with a full tank, which they are upfront about. We had a $300 pre-authorization which makes senses. Drop off was easy. We just parked the car in the lot and put the keys in a drop box. They did not charge us extra for taking the Mustang than we would have paid for the small economy car. And because of the mix-up they also didn't charge us for a second driver. The service is good. The systems to insure people recieve what they rent need some work.

We had an online reservation. The registered person and the payee wasn't the same person. They didn't give the car because of that reason. We called their customer care. 1st customer care representative said that he can cancel the reservation if we don't want refund, however he said we can modify that, in that case we need to pay 45$ extra. As we can't cancel it, forcefully we need to modify the reservation. We unwillingly made the change, but didn't pay anything and dropped the call. We called again, this time another representative picked the call. We explained the whole situation, this time 2nd representative said that we could cancel the 1st reservation without any cancellation fee. So, the 1st customer care representative was absolutely wrong. We requested 2nd representative to cancel both reservations, and he did that. We go back to the car pickup store for the confirmation. This time we talked with the manager of that store. He said the store representative also wrong, there is no rules that the registered person and payee need to be the same. However, he agreed to give discount over the price showing in their portal, and that was also way too high. The manager also treated us very cheaply. The whole scenario was so frustrating. To make the call, waiting, negotiation actually cost 4 hours lost, and then without any apology they were saying we needed to pay more! We cancelled the day trip, and came back home with full of frustrations!

Poor customer service, unskilled and unprofessional staff and arrogant evening staff. I had to rent a car post a motor vehicle accident. First of all they did not ask me what kind of car I preferred. The staff brought out a compass jeep. I drove it but was uncomfortable for a small petite woman like me. So I came back to return. Next turn they came around with a small Hyundai Sedan. It was dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke and trash. The staff said it was just returned and not cleaned. So opted for another vehicle that worked. When I signed the papers, they gave me a receipt of the Hyundai instead of the car I was going to drive. So I had to come back for the right receipt. The staff turns around mumbles to his colleagues "so fussy". When I went to return the vehicle in the evening the rental office was closed. But a security guard and staff were in there. I knocked at the door just wanting to know if I needed to sign any paper. The guard just ignored me and when I went to the other door he said the store was closed and did not have the courtesy to open the door or answer my query. Finally one staff came out of the room and he too did not open the door, just said no papers and drop the key in a drop off box. After receiving excellent customer service from Enterprise Car rental in the past, this was a total disappointment.

Would love to give this place 0 stars. We were promised on the phone that the vehicle would have BOTH AWD and winter tires. The only reason we choose budget was because this was what was promised to us over the phone. We found out upon arrival for our reservation that apparently they don't actually offer both in any of their cars. The women working was was unhelpful and said the only car for us was a small car but had winter tires. Fine. We settled on the car that we didn't want because that was suddenly all they had for us. Next, the damage report form claimed there was only one minor chip in the window that was filled. When we went outside to pick up the car it was completely covered in frost and snow. after scraping and sweeping off all the frost and snow (there was a lot), we soon discovered that there was in fact another chip in the window. My husband at that time went back into the office to tell the women working. She said she was going to add it to the damage report form. Upon returning the car a couple days later, the same women tried to ding us for that second chip and argued with my husband that the chip was our fault!!! We will NEVER rent from this horrible place again! WAY over priced and incompetent staff!!

We rented 2 cars in this location through the labor day long weekend. The customer service was OK at first, although the representative didn't walk through the vehicle with us to make sure everything is fine. The reason why I have to give this location 1 star because they rented out a vehicle without registration. Which is ILLEGAL. I know this is a fact because I went through a road block in Calgary with this car, and the police told me it is expired 3 months ago, and was going to tow the car. but I begged my way out of it and get on with my busy schedule. I'm soo stressed out since I'm not even sure if the other vehicle I rented is also not registered. I called the company and all they did is transfer me all over the place, and even cut me off and transfer me to an "unnamed department". (this is what the customer representative told me) I gave them the vehicle numbers to check if the cars are registered, and they said they can't do that,and wanted me to go to the airport to deal with it at 10pm at night. I end up just driving back both of them to Edmonton risking getting towed because it's too late at night and I'm too pissed to deal with them already. Please avoid this company at all cause.

On June 26, 2022 our car broke down and we called this location , it was a Sunday and the store was about to close at 2pm, I explained to the guy that answered the phone our situation, and requested him to wait for few more minutes and that we wanted a sedan as we were waiting for the cab to pick us up , the guy that answered the phone was kind enough to say he'd wait for us as long as we get there by 2pm , While the cab was delayed I called him.back again to say we will be a few more minutes late and asked how much it was for a sedan, the guy said it was $180 for a day for sedan , I asked him why it was so expensive and he said it's an high demand time and that's going to be the cost, and we asked him if any federal government discount would apply and he said they don't apply any discount during the high demand time, understood they have a business to run , but absolutely no humanity, I will never go to this location again. Considering our desperate situation I feel like the price was so ridiculously inflated. I told him he does not have to wait for us because the price was ridiculous.

I had my car serviced at don wheaton chev and got a loaner which was through budget. A few day after i noticed a charge on my credit card for $25. I know they charge $3.00/L but i returned the car with the needle at full and somehow they decided to charge me for 8L of fuel when i probably barely used 2L since i drove under 30 km. Fair enough charge me for fuel because i didn't fill up. It wasn't worth my time to go to a gas station to fill 2-3L of fuel. So i called them and yes it was a mistake on their end amd they fixed the problem amd said they will charge me for 3L. I got no explanation why there was a mistake and i think they do this more often than people realize and hope people don't check their credit card statements since they don't send a receipt. The $3.00/L is steep since I've had loaners with enterprise through Mercedes and they charge $1.95/L to fill up with premium fuel. I am not happy with my overall experience and would not recommend this location.

The staff were friendly and that is about the only good thing I can say... I got a rental car paid for by the dealership as my car was in for repairs for a recall. I was offered the same car as mine (as per request of the dealership) and they brought one from another location. It was absolutely disgusting inside. I don't expect rental cars to be as showroom clean as I keep my vehicles, however it would seem they didn't even attempt at cleaning this vehicle after the last few renters. There were food crumbs all over the seats and even more in every crevice. There was pet fur all over the interior. An empty water bottle on the floor and a straw wrapper in the door pocket. The door had something sticky sprayed down it and the steering wheel was gross. The outside wasn't washed. Budget left a lot to be desired. I have had the chance to experience three different rental companies in the past year and this one was by far the worst of the three.

Poor service, they would only let me drive a certain brand. They did not give me a comparable car options wise. The car had nearly 80k and stains all over the seats, scratches everywhere and grime on the center console, steering wheel, shifter. I asked for it to be cleaned and a guy came out with a towel which did nothing, still had grime in the cracks. Maybe I am just fussy but I drive a clean car and I dont appreciate being pushed into a dirty POS. So they give me an Impala 10 days later because I cannot stand looking at the stains everywhere any longer and the car is dirty again, not even vaccumed.....I brought it to his attention and he tells me to get it cleaned on my own...I was shocked by his response. He looked more worried about where he would get his next cheeseburger than sending away a satisfied customer. Disgusted with the whole experience, I would not recommend to anyone.

The phone for this location is either busted, or not connected to the Budget/AVIS IVR correctly. I was out with a rental from this store, and tried calling them. I just got a ringer for some time. After no response it took me back to the IVR. I tried calling the number directly, and thru the Toll Free and picked the option to call the location. But same end result. My brother came instore to tell them that their phone isn't working, and offered to give his cell phone to the agent so that he could listen to my concern. The agent refused to take my brother's phone, and said the store phone had no issues. How did he test if the line was working? He picked up the receiver and listened for a dial tone. That's it. Service was good. I've always got good cars from this location. I dropped the stars because of the busted phone.

I rent cars regularly. My go-tos are Enterprise and Budget. That changed today. I do rent from Budget because it's open on weekends. Today I got there only to be awkwardly greeted by a very rude staff member. He was rude and unwilling to help. When he offered the daily insurance and I declined because I already had insurance on my credit card, he actually, literally uttered these words: "so if you ave flat tire, the credit card guys will come fix the car for you? Ok!" He was so rude that I was left speechless. As for the car, they always stink and are never clean. My advice: always choose Enterprise. You might think they're a bit expensive, but their services is incompatible to Budget. They offere unlimited mileage, cars are always new and washed, and the staff are incredibly polite and helpful.

Inadaquite/ Incompetent Employees Road side Assistance unavailable for over 2 hours, no way of contacting the service. No other number available. Leave you completely abandoned & with out any answers regarding your contract & their responsibility to you as a customer. JENNIFER- from the only Budget/Avis rental agency open, informed me that she had other customers & was unable to assist me because she had no answer for me as to how I would be able to hsve the vehicle towed due to extremely poor tire grade for Canadian Winter Roads. I was left with out any answers and the last this she stated before handing up was that it was my responsibility to bring the dangerous road hazzard vehicle back to their office.

I booked an intermediate vehicle and arrived to pick it up via an out of pocket Uber. They were out of anything except for a 1/2 ton Ram. I cannot rent that vehicle due to parkade height restrictions. I booked it about a half hour before picking it up, so that is on me and I understand that it is Sunday but why did the website allow me to book a vehicle that doesn’t exist. Extremely disappointed with Budget and I am out of pocket $50 on two unnecessary Uber trips. When I have a reservation confirmation in my email for the vehicle I booked, I should not have to call to confirm they have a similar car to the one I booked. The employees did apologize, however I am still very disappointed.

Remember that Seinfeld episode when Jerry reserves a vehicle and they have his reservation but no vehicles? That is my experience today. Our car had to go in for emergency repair, reserved a car through AMA, get to this location, no car available. The guy working there, his excuse, we booked to soon. Atrocious experience. Cost went from $350/week to $660/week for because the guy working added things and lied about extra costs like added driver, cost per day and so on. The guy even starts to complain when we cancel the vehicle because ink is expensive for his dot matrix printer. Service was garbage, experience was garbage. Stay away from this place. Zero stars is a more proper rating.

PLEASE Don't go to this place unless you want to be treated RUDELY... I rented a car from this place, and when I returned the car I had forgotten to removed some stuff on drivers mat (I had cleaned all car already). They RUDELY FORCED me to clean the mat (I simply emptied that in trash bin). I rent car from other companies and return the cars even dirtier and they never have said any thing about that I should clean the car and they have never forced me to clean it, RUDELY!!!!!!!!!!! when I asked the person who drove me back to home about that, he simply said: We are very busy, don't have enough time to clean our cars, so we force costumers to clean them...

No problems with the vehicle but this company could really use a lesson in customer service. I booked (and paid for) a car online for 2 full days, but was told at the pickup counter that I would need to return it in 1.5 days, or be charged for 3 days due to early office closure on Sunday. The employee was completely unwilling to discuss alternatives. He did not offer to refund my wasted half day. There was no consideration for the customer whatsoever. Perhaps Budget senior management should consider granting their employees a bit more agency? I would be very reluctant to rent from Budget in the future, if I can avoid it.

The staff at the 104 Street Budget went above and beyond customer service for me. I would not hesitate to rent from this location whether it was the closest to me or not. They had understanding and patience with my transaction and also showed me impeccable kindness when I was having trouble with the transaction. I only ended up being delayed 1 day picking up the vehicle (instead of what could have been 3 days due to my credit card processing). Thank you to Dan and his fantastic team for treating me as a human being instead of simply another transaction.

We drive out of way to deal with this location. Great staff. Some reviews complain about time. Saturday mornings in summer are busy so if six people show up at 8 for their cars, guess what? You have to wait. There may be only one staff there. They are a fastbreak location so maybe sign up for that. Also, you need your drivers license and credit card when you get there. On one occasion People ahead of us didnt know. Really? We got upgraded to a fancier car on our latest rental. They aren't always supplied with the car you put on hold.

We made an online reservation for an intermediate SUV. We had to take Uber to get to this location to pick up the vehicle, just to find out that they gave us a huge full size SUV that’s very hard to drive. No apology from staff. Their solution for our issue is to go back to Budget at the airport location to exchange for an intermediate SUV. The guy at the counter was not helpful at all. Poor customer service. If management not going to address this kind of behaviour from employee then this would be our last rental with Budget.

Try avoiding going to this place. They will email you a month later with a random bill of new windshield they had to install because of the trip you took with them months ago but since then vehicle had put on 20k because it didn't have the time to go get fixed. Customer service guys finally took off the bill but this branch is terrible in their customer service and have 0 idea on how to deal with people. Can't email people months later with a bill when you kept renting vehicle out for business

First, rented a truck and told last minute there would be not truck. It was for moving something so I has arranged hired help. Then when I insisted they said okay we will arrange one for when you get here. The man at the service counter was not very customer friendly at check in. I was then charged double on my credit card for the truck. I called about it and they said it was a mistake but they would have to send a refund request to head office and it will take at least 14 days for a refund.

The gentleman working the counter was super friendly and helpful. He was able to switch me last-minute into an SUV with winter tires. The vehicle with the winter tires had just been returned, but they were able to quickly and thoroughly clean it. I really appreciated having the winter tires when I drove through a snowstorm. Vehicle was thoroughly cleaned when I received it, and I felt really safe driving it. I'll definitely be renting from you guys again, thank you so much!!

Staff is very rude and unhelpful. The car we got was dirty and smelly inside but because we were in a rush, we did not complain. When we were returning the car the same day, we picked up all the garbage, even the one from the previous user just to get a call next day that the car is dirty and we were charged a 300$ smoking fee! I was appalled with rude customer service and lazy staff that think that it is easier to charge a customer than clean the car themselves.

The price was a good deal with the AMA membership, the people were friendly, but do not come here if you are in a rush. I called twice to use their shuttle service and no answer either time, I had to wait 45 minutes for their free shuttle service (I was 5 minutes away) and when I came to pick up the vehicle there were 3 other people waiting to be serviced with no Budget employee in the office. Cheap and good but don’t come here if you’re in a hurry.

Friendly people and offers all the right add ones you want and isn’t pushy for the ones you don’t want and also the price here cannot be beat.. forget Uhaul or other rental companies especially here in Edmonton this location specifically is next level.. come down and see Suhaib at the 5905 104th street NW Edmonton if you need to rent a truck or vehicle at all.

I did reservations this place 2 weeks before date to pick the car I pay for GMC YUKON I call them 3 days before the date and I ask if car is available they said yes and I call again before the day coming in to pick the car they said I can come anytime to get the car when finally day come to get the car they said we don’t have same car we give u chevy so please be aware from that place is scammers stuff there

Rude customer service,and since when cant you rent with a debit Visa card, its a card attached to my bank account,the guy says no it has to be a cc. Pretty funny I’ve rented from other places including budget on roper road with my debit card. But here they wouldn’t let me. So I went to enterprise and got a great mid size car, and had no issues renting with my debit Visa card.

The worst Budget branch in Edmonton! Don’t go there if you value your time. Every time we reserve here, we have to wait at least an hour to get a car. And cherry on the top is the manager’s irresponsibility and rudeness. “It’s not a perfect world” is their excuse for every problem. Guess what? The world may not be perfect, but your service is definitely awful!

Dirty car, damaged, and not what I reserved. The salesperson lied about the price of the vehicle to scare me into buying additional insurance. You may have scammed me $50, that's my fault, but I won't ever do business with Budget or Avis again. I would warn everyone else against it as well, but I suppose if you have no other choice than these guys, go ahead.

That's funny yesterday around 3:30pm Google showed the place was open but actually they closed at 3pm. Closed at 3pm?? What does it even mean? Maybe just don't open up at all and don't confuse customers?? Oh and nobody picking up the phone no voice mail saying we're closed or something; I had to call to some sort of main budget's line to confirm. Ridiculous.

Billy at the Calgary Trail branch provides exceptional service! He has helped me on 2 or 3 occasions in the past and again has made renting a vehicle a very positive experience. Budget are very lucky to have someone with his knowledge and experience. As long as he is there, I will not even think about going anywhere else. Thanks!!

Old white hair Gentleman while pick up was so friendly and helpful.. Please check your car properly for every small dents or chips on glasses and windshield. Its good we took few picture from inside the car of scenery outside, otherwise would've charged for small very tiny chip on windshield, which was doubtful while returning.

Booked for a full-size car, but the end of the day had to receive a regular size SUV. I had to squeeze all of my baggage into the back passenger seat. The price was not reduced. At least expect a call if they don't have any car or should compensate for the cost. Should not keep the price of a full-size car for a smaller one.

I would rate it 0 star if i could. Lady named Rahama is extremely rude and ignorant. Keeps calling her self "manager". Worst customer service from a rental place i have ever had. Never going back here. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. I have filed a complaint in their head office. I hope she gets disciplined.

The very first time I went there he went the extra mile to help me deal with an unusual renting situation, He is always super accommodating and makes dealing with everything so simple!

Staff was awesome as usual! Unfortunately the vehicle was older, (over 90,000 km) didn't smell great, and developed a malfunction of some safety features on the highway. That being said I never have had a bad experience before from this location. Will definitely be back as I am sure this was a rare event.

Budget claims "core values" regarding legal action taken against them. The truth is they, like most any other corporation will nickel and dime you at any and every opportunity. Just because most every other corporation is doing it, that does not make it right, acceptable or legal. Bad on you Budget.

Have rented from here twice. Staff are always helpful and informative with clarity regarding rental. Pickup and drop off is always easy and professional. Staff are friendly, honest and welcoming. Highly recommend Budget Car Rental at 59 Avenue and Calgary Trail! Keep up the great work!

Very helpful staff. I accidentally came here to pick up a truck when I had booked the truck at another location. Without hesitation, they immediately offered to give me a ride over to the other location as I was dropped off here and never had a car to get to the right location.

Vehicle was Ok for a day or 2 rental but not for long term. It was base model with 0 options. I rented a full size car and got a compact SUV instead. Staff was great to deal with and cleanliness was amazing. But overall the improvement of the rental vehicles needs to improve.

I have been to this location numerous times over the last few years. Overall been a very positive experience. They have: allowed me to return the vehicle a little late (no charge); upgraded me to better vehicle (no charge); and accommodated me at the last moment a few times.

I rent for business and leisure trips, this is by far the worst rental location I've never been to. Rude and inefficient Car was not ready even though I specifically called to make sure it was. Only been waiting for half an hour, I'm sure there'll be more issues later.

The gentleman at the counter is always so friendly and accommodating. I've rented from a couple of other places in the past, but you can't beat the service received here. It can be a busy spot, but he always manages to get you on the road as quickly as possible.

Got a decent price for a one ton Cube van moving truck. Unfortunately didn't get it full of gas. The young fellow there said he filled it up, but that was a lie. I only put on 32 kms and when I went to fill up it cost me $37.20. That's not right

I had a reservation for Saturday, it took about 60 minutes to get car. There was only one person there to provide the service and there was a lineup and was busy... The phone was ringing crazy and that person didn't have time to answer.

I delt primarily with Larry when renting my vehicle. He was awesome, very respectful and helpful. The man has good customer service skills which is a rare thing these days. I did not have any issues with the vehicle I rented.

Worst customer service from Budget, not the local office, when I found out the day after pick up of the vehicle, that the head office charged me 3 times. This does not include my final payment when the vehicle was returned.
