First, the lady who does the greeting seems very condescending with the way she speaks to people, especially with minorities. She's very loud and comes off as rude at times. Secondly, this bank is so sloooooooooooow. Now I understand why they have so many bad reviews. I was the 2nd person in line to see a teller, which there were 8 of, yet it still took 15 minutes to be seen by one. By the time I was called, 4 of the tellers disappeared into the back after they'd walked around chatting with the other tellers, taking their time. There was also a long line behind me when I was finally seen. Every visit, it's slow even when it's empty. Third, during a different visit, the teller was being so loud with my personal information and business while it was completely quiet in the bank, and brought in more tellers to talk about it loud enough for everyone to hear. Jeez. I wish they hadn't closed the Portage and Arlington branch.

Just visited this branch. Very irresponsible management. I needed a void cheque or proof of account with a stamp and contact info of branch for my usd account for business purposes in USA. Of course it’s out of country and they just need a proof stamped or signed that we actually have a account for their verification. Teller offered me to print a void cheque and said sorry we can’t signed it. Instead of just printing my void check with their sign as verification, she printed a whole thing which I even don’t need to reveal my customer. I was feeling like insulated when teller said my manager “bhardwaj” said we can’t provide or sign anything like it. It was just a simple thing and I got it signed and exactly as my requirements from another branch. Will never visit this branch again and this kind of behaviour is forcing customers to switch their account with another banks. Very disappointed.

Closed my account yesterday. For the longest time I was able to tolerate the slow service after realizing that there are just certain times of the day that you simply don't go in. But when I tried to resolve an error I had made due to a disability, the condescension and profound lack of empathy from the manager when handling it sent the clear message that this branch and, by extension, this institution is indifferent to its clients and fundamentally corrupt. She then displayed zero concern that I was withdrawing my business. I'm so glad I didn't move my business and mortgage financing here as I had been planning. If they don't know how to handle people then how can they be trusted to handle peoples' money?

Ester the worst customer service at the banking sector always super busy, always not enough staff members to accommodate the customers at this location. This location creates its own policies that don’t align with the rest of the branches which makes my business transactions more difficult and next to impossible. Ester has lots of attitude and seems like every step needs to be verified with another coworker which causes the line to continue building. Either train your staff members better at this location or hire more people. This is embers saying and I am considering moving my entire account which has a big amount of financial, can’t even imagine how they treat everyday people trying to make a living.

If I could give a negative star review it would be an infinite amount of negatives. My wife came in to deposit a cheque and was stereotyped BY THE MANAGER because my wife and I now married, her last name was different on the cheque and my wife pulled out previous identification to prove the cheque was hers. They still refused and all they had to do was look in their system to confirm.. but no they would sooner make my wife cry before FINALLY depositing the cheque, which by the way they had no problem doing for 10 months prior even though her name was the same as today.. only difference being that she now has facial piercings. Totally uncool, unprofessional and DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR FROM THE MANAGER.

Slowest service. No flexibility on staffing to improve client experience and service. Only one teller open at 4pm on Monday when there is more than 20 people in line up (I'm not exaggerating). I'm already in line up for 40 minutes.... If I could post a picture without worrying about confidentiality I would, just to show how ridiculous this whole place is... The old lady in front of me is now sitting in a chair scooting her self forward in line as she got dizzy for standing in the line for over 40minutes.. I'm a long time business client.. however not able to go into the business line up as it was "too busy and they have to close" .. I am so speechless

I've been very frustrated with their customer service. I made an online appointment. Nobody sent me a link for the first one and, of course, nobody showed up. Then, I made another appointment and the representative just wasted my time. I had 4 issues to discuss with him about my existing account and investment plans. Not only he couldn't help me with any of them, but also he provided me with the wrong information. He also took my account number to look into an issue and promised to get back to me in a few days, but he never contacted me again. This isn't my first time receiving unsatisfactory services. I should start going to a different RBC branch.

Reading these comments makes me shake my head as I live in Calgary and EVERY branch there has the same issue as I see here in Winnipeg, the incompetence and wait times are way over what's acceptable!!, went to Toronto, same complaint!!! hire/train more staff or teach them to do their job better, it shouldn't take 15 min per customer to complete their transactions. I was at a different Banking institution for 40 years then switched to RBC, regretting that move, WHO else other than RBC restricts your e-transfer to $2000 a day, and my OWN account to $1500 a day withdrawal??!! DO BETTER for what you take from me in "fee's" each month.

The teller I dealt with was friendly, albeit a bit too interested in matters of conversation that I wasn't too keen on engaging with her, but the male coworker at the desk next to hers was slowly rolling coins for a customer while there were 7 people waiting in line. He was with this customer when I arrived, while I waited in line, while I was at the teller, and still rolling coins with his customer when I left. This speaks volumes about the sense of urgency and inability to prioritize time/resources at the customer-facing level. Not impressed, and likely won't return to this branch.

AVOID THIS LOCATION!!! Never had a problem ordering money until I went to the Ellice location. I was told to go online because counting $200 worth of $1 bills takes too long for them. Really now? Isn’t it your job to count money and you do realize you have a money counting machine at your disposal. Just lazy mentality from this location. Went to the Kenaston location and they were able to order my USD bills no problem. It’s no surprise that this location has a 2 star rating just look at all the previous reviews…keep up the great work!

This location has to be the worst customer service in the bank industry. Feels like they dont want to deal with customers and its clear by how long the lines are & how they treat customers. They also make up their own policies that are exclusive to this RBC location when it comes to doing business transactions. Absolutely embarrassing, avoid this location unless you are looking to waste your time.

The line up and wait time is terrible as usual. I can't believe I don't just get my act together and switch to another bank The moment I walked in the life just fell out of me as I saw the number of people waiting to see a teller. And then I saw how slowly the line was moving and I sank further still. Why close a third of your branches and make us all come to the few remaining?

Very slow service. Teller was working on other deposits after she asked me to come forward. She worked on half of my deposit then continued to work on other deposits slips that weren't part of my transaction. Took 15 minutes to make a deposit when I was the only one in line. Service has definitely gotten slower after the renovations.

There are only a slight few folks that work at RBC that show the patrons respect and take the time to help them and answer questions; today unfortunately those few were not there. I was met with a rude response following a question that I had. I used to love going in person to the bank, from now on I will only do online banking.

They have to hire more tellers on this location. You have to allot 1 hour just waiting in line. There is only 1 teller in business but transactions here usually takes 15minutes minimum...there should be someone to cover if the other person is going for her break especially if there's line up already.

Really bad customer service and very slow. Already in line one of the girl came to me asking how can I help ? Told her everything then she said stay in here someone will help you. I was like hello I'm already in line and waiting. If that's her job to ask not help anymore I'm willing to do her job .

Takes forever to open a business bank account. Cancels appointment at the very last moment(reacheduling takes another few days). Not very professional if you are looking for a professional banking service in Winnipeg!! Not recomended this location as at all!

Awful, 40 customers "hanging out" 6 tellers open, Peak of day, 22 in line in front of me No where to sit, no water, no coffee Went elsewhere, don't go here, instead of worrying about 'image' how about train your staff to service the Coustomer efficiency.

Lineups are long. I dislike how RBC recently closed down so many of their branches; they make 3 banks' worth of customers come to one understaffed location. Every time I come here I have a long wait. People are nice, but these wait times are such a waste

I want to give the stars if exist in minus. I had a terrible experience with Margo Stevenson. I don't know how she work that it takes near about two months to submit an application for which the processing time is only 3-5 business days.

Very slow service, lots of staff hanging around doing nothing. Only 1 teller person in sight despite the queue. Nobody waiting to use the business window, the person there just staring at the long line. Priority should be helping people

Slow like snail, or shall i say snail even moves faster. All staff needs to be changed immedaitely. Older people were waiting like anything and the employees were just walking talking and relaxing. Pooor pooor pooor service

For more than 10 years as a RBC loyal customer at Ellice branch, I finally say that I had a very good customer service experience when I personally met Mr. DENIS Graham who is very knowledgeable, helpful and easy to deal with.

terrible service and TERRIBLE Policy's. have a business account with RBC (Personal Member 15 YEARS) and cant even use checks FROM RBC to pay other business IN Canada . worse bank in Canada . DO NOT TAKE YOUR MONEY HERE.

Wouldn't allow me to deposit a bank draft. Branch had a very long line, and then have their own arbitrary rules about banking transactions they will accept. Wait time was 20 minutes. I would not suggest banking here.

every time shortage of staff. long wait, today also 2-3 employees and there was a long line of approx 30-35 customers. they should hire more staff. I did wait in line for almost a 1 hour.

You WILL wait in a line. There WILL be 3 random employees standing around talking at the front. The staff WILL avoid your eyes while standing in line.
