I am updating this review. I was able to get some help from the bank manager at this location. She was able to help manage the process and I was able to get a satisfactory outcome. Thank you for working to resolve this issue. ____ Scotiabank is making me pay for fraud committed in another province because of their insecure advertising campaign. I was living in Saskatoon and had a line of credit. I later moved to Winnipeg. A promotional package from Scotiabank was sent to that address and somehow someone used that information to withdraw over one thousand dollars from the line of credit. I have had a horrible time circling through the company and being contacted by various collection agencies. I have yet to talk to the person actually responsible for making the decision regarding this case and I have not been asked to provide any evidence for the fact that I was not in Saskatoon at the time of the crime. I have yet to even be formally told the outcome of the investigation. I am now getting calls from collection agencies. Every time a collection agency calls I explain the situation and provide them with a copy of the police report. They say they will talk to their manager or Scotiabank and call me back, but then they don't call. A few months later a new collection agency calls. I am now talking to a bank manager and am hopeful that this will help. I am expecting to have to escalate a complaint to higher levels. This has not been a good experience.

An efficient branch with staffs who know their work. There were four people in front of me, and I got to leave the branch in 10 minutes. Staffs are also very friendly. As I was surprised by the low rating of this branch, I browsed a few comments that gave low stars. At least several of them involve misunderstandings about rules/norms that banks obey here. - One is that bank branches do not issue credit cards—a customer can only receive a credit card by mail from the headquarter. - Another is that when we deposit cheques on phones, only $100 will become available immediately, and the rest will become available the next day. This applies to all major banks in Canada. The only exception is when the person deposits the cheque at the bank—and that’s different from depositing the cheque on the phone first and then going to the bank to question the staffs there. Questioning the staffs or trying to make them look bad won’t change anything in the second scenario. I feel sorry that this branch received so many low stars because of the misunderstandings. Not the staffs’ fault.

I wish I could give minus in ratings. As my credit card expired I went to the bank to get new visa credit card ..as cashier was new she asked me to call customer service which takes 3-4 hours min. She said they don’t do visa credit card at the branch. As I wanted to see manager or experienced person to talk, but she denied and very rudely said that they have the same information and nobody can help for this . Then, manager or someone superior came in and asked me to book appointment. As they all speaking in Chinese language, this branch only made for Chinese people, they don’t care for any other person and don’t want to help others as a client. As I have scotia bank account from last 6 years which I’m going to close it soon due this worst experience…

Most pathetic services....Even if they claim they are polite, they still treat you partially based on where I come from. This one so called financial advisor wasn’t helpful at all and the way I was treated felt like I’m racially profiled... And while closing the account, one such gentleman at teller had attitude issues and ended up taking 20 mins just to close my account and give me the remainder balance as he screwed up and didn’t know what he was doing.. Also saw ppl with terrible issues having rudest tone while speaking to a customer... Big time disappointment for a brand name like this

I am completely dissatisfied with our previous mortgage broker Palmina Thomson, and with Scotiabank's lack of effort to resolve or address the situation. As variable rates continued to rise we reached out to Ms. Thomson to express our concerns and for her professional opinion. Long story short, she advised us to stay with our variable rate on multiple occasions and detoured us from locking into a fixed rate. I've also heard other home owners have had similar issues with this broker. I don't usually do 1 star reviews but I felt this was a warranted response.

I had a friendly and good experience at this Killarney Scotiabank branch. I was greeted by a very nice lady at the front desk, I believe her name was Sharon. She offered to speak in a different language as she was bilingual as well. Sharon is professional, efficient, very knowledgeable and is able to assist me with my inquiries. She explained to me in detail what the branch could offer in addition to credit card promotions. I would highly recommend dealing with this branch and more specifically, with Sharon!

Unable to get ahold of anyone at the actual branch. First phone appt never called and then had their out of office reply on indicating that they're on holidays (why was the appt booked with them??). Needed to book a second appt, who also didn't call or give notice. If phone appts are an option, then the advisor should be honoring them. This bank manager needs to sort their staff out and see why staff are being allowed to no show booked appointments as per their own calendar.

Friendly staff. Lots of nature light. Clean. Why four stars and not 5, simple. Long line inside and only two tellers open. It could have been better with more staff working. I had to wait almost 15 minutes. Thank goodness I wasn't in a rush. The customer service staff member at the front was very kind but couldn't help me. It was nice that no matter how much time goes by, she always remembers me by name. One of the reasons I keep coming back.

I want to share my personal experience with Asif and Eva , as I am from Edmonton and I know Manitoba is still following all the covid -19 protocols , I went into this branch for account issues and these guys are amazing , they ask me to go and sit down in my car and they wrote my contact down , within 3 mins they called me that it’s done ✅ , you made my journey wonderful , thank you for such a great service , thumbs up .

Interesting day, today. Mrs Shittal misunderstood the situation considering my friend was waiting with me to open an account and the hostility was unacceptable from her verbal attitude. I respect what everyone does here, but I am upset with the treatment. Just make sure, everyone calls the branch before arriving for the appointment to avoid any sort of disrespect.

The new location on Richmond west is nice but the employees are the slowest I've ever encountered in any financial institution. I'm there right now, and we've been waiting in line for close to 50 minutes. Funny thing is, we are not even up to 10 people here right now. The workers are too slow!

The tellers are great. The bank machines need to be repaired or replaced. You can't deposit in them as they reject the cash. This happens to many times.
