I would like to share my  bad experience with this location totay.  I am a Five Star customer with Hertz and rented almost about 42 times in past 2 years ( even in the time of pandemic) through the country. Working in the service industry i know what a customer service would look like and this would fall under absolutely in the terrible customer service experience. Coming to the incident. I had my reservation booked at this location ( Hertz 102 Ave) and my reservation was to pick up at 9, i have confirmed with Hertz by calling reservation support that i can pick it up anytime before close. I was running a bit behind but was manage to reach there 15 minutes before closing ,i even called and gave a heads up to the location before arrival and person i spoke to was the Branch Manager Mohamad itself. Even when he was talking to me over the phone he sounded a bit frustrated and said he will not  help me  if i will be arrive later than 1P.M. ( that was fair and i acknowledged it ) ,There was already a line up of customer and there were 4 more customers behind me when i arrived there at 12:45p.m. A nice gentleman assisted me and looking after me and then suddenly Mohamad looked into his computer screen and said he( me) is late we don't have anything now . Other representative still tried to find a solution for me but he ( Mohamad)is keep on saying we don't have anything.  I don't understand , i had a reservation there, there  was no expriry time then how come my vehicle was given out to someone else. He was making walk-in reservation which have caused this but how come its justified for someone who booked in advance and confirmed that coming for pickup. I kept my calm and even said " i appreciate your effort to find a solution for me" that was intended for the representatives helping me out. Its my third time in this location and in previous two times its was all 10/10 experience. I reached at the saturation point when the representatives who was helping me was trying to check a vehicle for me but Manager told him to leave the key as it was for someone who is coming on monday. At this moment i addressed him and said "Why you are being so rude with me , is there any rule that if i was not here at 9 i missed my reservation?" He replied in high pitch tune that" if you would like i can read all term and conditions for you and if i am being rude go to somewhere else, i can't keep vehicle for you for 10 hours" Literally said get lost ......... For anyone who takes the self respect seriously it was a insult in public.I am seriously thinking about my legal options in here. Is this how you treat with your customers? There must be a situations that were out of control but instead of turning away your customer you could have educate or make them understand.  Like the other associate was trying to do. But unfortunately the manager is going totally opposite way in leading by example. This has impacted them losing two of my reservations ( 40 days in total) and alll future visit to this location and possibly with hertz if they don't take any action on this complaint. P.S. a formal complaint will be filed to hertz customer relationship as well.

Rented an SUV for one day with "full coverage" - collision; glass; liability. I put blankets in the back that had some pet hair on them ( not much!). But the interiors of the vehicles are felt-like, so attract ANY hairs like a magnet. Returned the car full of gas; they would not sign off on it as they said it had "pet hair in it, and they could not rent it out without having it cleaned." I disputed this because in fact, the car was rented to me with a dirty exterior, the excuse being given that "it was just driven from the airport and was muddy." I did not raise a fuss; I still took the car. Anyways, what to do? The desk attendant told me it would be ( get ready ) THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS to clean the pet hair out of the car. THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS. When I expressed my astonishment, he said "it's in your contract". I asked him if I could clean it out myself; they have a detailing bay on premises, I assume with brushes, vacuums, etc. He said I would need to take it elsewhere, they could not lend me anything. The manager then comes out and said he would drop the price to $150. Half. I took the car to a carwash, vacuumed out the tiny ( TINY) bit of pet hair and floor mat gravel; WASHED the car; and got a sticky roll for $3.50 and sticky-rolled the back area. Took me 15 to 20 minutes TOPS. I returned the car to them cleaner than they rented it out to me. CLEANER than what they rented it to me for. Absolutely dishonest and rip off business practice. This is a straight-up consumer gouge. $300 would get any car a full exterior and interior detail! Not a 10 to 20 minute ( disputed) "pet hair" cleanup. Will NEVER use them or recommend them again. Will follow up with a letter to Hertz Canada. Disappointing beyond belief.

I am deeply disappointed with my experience with Herz Car Rental. Every time I visit their location, they inform me that no cars are available. I am unsure if this issue is specific to me or if other customers face the same situation. As a car rental company, it is their responsibility to ensure an adequate supply of vehicles to meet customer demands. However, every time I inquire about availability, the response remains the same: no cars. This makes me question whether they genuinely have cars for rent. If they are unable to provide service due to a lack of available vehicles or any other reasons, I expect them to be transparent about it instead of repeatedly stating "no cars." Such behavior undermines their professionalism and integrity. I also have concerns regarding the cars displayed outside their premises. It raises doubts as to whether those vehicles are merely for show rather than being genuinely available for customers to rent. If they have no intention of offering rental services, they should be straightforward about it rather than engaging in false advertising or creating misleading expectations. In conclusion, my experience with Herz Car Rental has been extremely disappointing. They have not met my needs as a customer, nor have they provided a clear explanation. I do not recommend them and encourage others to seek out a more reliable car rental company.

my experience with hertz was terrible! I rented a car day by day to start, unsure how long i might need it, the last day i rented it i called to extend and asked them "if i decide to extend one more day do i just call before 3:45?", they said yes. when i went online to get the address to return it before 345, the website said they are closed, i tried calling and got no answer, not knowing what to do i kept the car parked at my place until they opened. when i spoke to someone they told me i owe them for those extra two days even though they never told me i could bring it back and park it there and drop the keys in the lock box, i told them i didn't know they had one, he said well you could have left the car and taken the keys, i told him i didn't know i could do that, he then said well anyone that has ever rented a car knows we do that and i should have known. I am in the customer service industry and we never expect people to know things without going through all of our policies. I will never recommend hertz to anyone as they employ people who wont take responsibility for their mistakes and take advantage of people. they also tried to charge me for gas when i returned it, i had to show them the gas receipt i had just gotten for filling it up. I will be giving them a zero rating anywhere i can, to hopefully prevent others from going through this.

Got sent here by chevrolet while they worked on my vehicle as that is part of my warranty. They were friendly and helpful, however due to shady business practice I would strongly recommend going anywhere else! I had the car for about a week and a half, 1 day before my return it was cold out and one of the "existing window chips that I was told didn't matter on the checkout of vehicle because it was smaller than their little glass chip checker" causes a crack from the corner of the windshield to about 2 inches away, had this been my vehicle I would have immediatly gone to a windshield place to have it repaired so it was over an done with. I phoned them at hertz and they said no it would be fine and just bring it back and we would deal with having it repaired in house, made it sound like there would be no issue as I explained it was existing chip that caused it. What do you know several weeks later I have not just a repair for the crack but an entire new windshield charged to my credit card, an extremely expensive window I might add and because my credit card didnt take the full amount there is an additional $70.00 in pre auth transaction sitting for them to steal more from me as soon as I put some money on my card. Nothing like taking advantage of your customers being up front and honest with you!!! Thanks hertz you thieves.

Should have listened to reviews. I got fill up option and went to fill up gas 2 blocks away. At the pump it clicked saying it’s full so I paid for gas and left. So they charged me for gas because apparently I am supposed to continue to restart the car at the pump and continue to pump past the point of when the pump stops me to ensure the vehicle goes to maximum capacity. Customer service brutal. I had a similar situation happen at other companies where the gas station was much farther away and so the tank wasn’t completely full and as long as I had my gas receipt I was not charged extra. I filled up yesterday and topped up there is no way I should be charged. Customer service stated repeatedly he will not ever advise customers to continue to pump past the gas pump stopping point. I stated it would be bad for the vehicle and it is not something you are supposed to do (for obvious safety reasons). He stated it doesn’t matter if it’s bad for the vehicle or whatever other reason and to just do it or pay extra. Brutal experience will never rent from them again in Edmonton.

I had a very unpleasant and frustrating experience with this location. I would not recommend. I rented a Tesla, I called ahead to clarify the car's distance and the cost per charge. I was told 450 km and it would cost $25/charge. During my trip I could barely go 250 km in distance and it ended up costing close to $40/charge. I had to make many extra stops on my trip and it cost me an additional $270. When I asked for a breakdown of the extra charges, the location insultingly sent me the same invoice with the $270 highlighted, the also charged me $50 for a late return. I attempted to raise my concerns with head office and they also did not assist. I can understand that the costs incurred were from my travel, but I was very frustrated as the gentleman I spoke with for my rental significantly misrepresented the cost and ability of the vehicle I chose to rent. Also disappointed they didn't even attempt to discuss this with me. Overall very poor experience.

It is the worst rental place in my whole life. They could do anything and everything below my possible expectation. Worst customer service and best impoliteness. They were also capable of blaming their fault on me yet never returning my request. Possibly the worst combination you can expect. (I wish there is a zero-star option) (I haven't noticed that there was a response.) Actually, I contacted Hertz in two ways after having bad experience. When I contacted Hertz via customer contact webpage, I was completed ignored. When another Hertz associate contacted for insurance, she said it is not her job and she had nothing to do with it. After I left this review, the manager (?) called me but not really did not care for correcting their errors, just requesting to increase the review points. It does not surprise me that Hertz went bankrupt.

Extremely disappointing experience here today. I paid for my reservation several weeks ahead of time online, but when I came to pick my car up, they insisted on an extra $350 damage deposit. Sure of course - I offered my Visa debit that I paid online with, but for reasons unknown to me, they refused to take it. They insisted it be put on a standard credit card, of which I only have a small one that doesnt even have a high enough limit to cover it. The kicker was when they wouldn't even refund my money on the spot. I had to phone Hertz customer service to get it refunded. This also put a slight inconvenience on my vacation this weekend, so thanks for that. I urge you guys, go with Enterprise or Budget. I will never even entertain the thought of renting with this company again.

Dear Monhomed (Hertz) In November 2020 this year, My daughter rented a car from you in Edmonton, at your location 170 Street and 102 Av. You have charged her credit card on file, when insurance was to cover the car rental. You have charge her card, and then also billed her insurance at the same time. You got payed two times, you double your payment $4900 I have try to call you several times as have my daughter too. You have blocked our phone numbers. I have to write a review now and might call the local authority's to launch an investigation to your actions. You have really hurt and upset my oldest. I am extremely disappointed in you and your company. Very un professional you guys... I would not suggests any one using this location. and Keep your cards safe !!

Not impressed with this location at all. Picking up vehicles took forever as the agents switched half-way through the transaction and had to start the process all over again. Returned vehicles after hours and was expecting final bill the next day. Had to call this in 2 days later, only to have the first agent hang up the phone. Called back and expressed my frustration to the agent, who was not apologetic at all and felt I owed him a ton of apologies since it wasn't his fault. I was deeply offended by his lack of understanding of basic customer service. The issues I was raising were corporate issues and he chose to take it personal. Highly disappointed with the poor service standards!!

I'm a regular rental car customer and I was very disappointed with this location. The customer service was good, no rude employees or anything...but the cleanliness of the vehicle I rented was laughable and the wait times were extremely long. Normally this wouldn't bug me and I'm not one to care about attire, but with the other things like cleanliness and wait times being an issue, it would have been an added touch if the workers had consistent uniforms, but workers showing up in baggy hoodies and gym shorts was a little unprofessional. Overall ,the pricing was decent and the customer interaction was not a problem, it was just everything else as mentioned above.

I had the best service here. They were extremely friendly and patient. They exchanged our car for a bigger model and no charge. They even gave us a drop home even though we were out of the minimum km mark. The owner and the Indian Guy at the counter were superb in their customer service and their help. They were very informative and did a proper walk through around the car that kept us at ease and showed us all the functions of the car so we were prepared for our long journey. Thank you Thank you Thank you for helping us have a fun family vacation.

I would give zero stars if possible. We needed to do a full vehicle clean up and sanitation when we picked up the vehicle as there were vomit splatters on the doors, windows and seats as well as the floor. The vehicle floors were filthy with chip crumbs, wrappers and other food. When asked to have the vehicle cleaned, the response was “the guy is new”. Disgusting and completely unacceptable. We dropped this car off cleaner than when we picked it up. Photos do not do it justice as to how bad it was in person.

Horrendous experience. Rented car through service for Hertz, was advised that my car was not available and they would have to change to Thrifty. Did not want to rent through this DBA, guy showed me the car it was a beat up car high miles basic of basic and I was told it was an upgrade. Went to enterprise they honored the price and gave me a 2018 loaded car. Hertz/thrifty has issues voiding the contract took almost an hour to complete and void transaction. Poor poor service do not recommend at all.

Very bad! Chrysler gave me rent a car I took theirs insurance for a day went back next day to tell them my insurance had coverages and I even increased to $75,000 coverages. Muhamed him self took off on 2nd day and told me is canceled and when I returned car $900 charges on my visa just for insurance I was going back twice they are just ignoring me called Muhamed his ignoring me. It’s a criminal what they did. I’m not done with this

I had to rent a vehicle because my car broke down, this was the cheapest place I could find last minute.I picked it up first thing in the morning and it was ready within 10 minutes. I booked the manager’s special and they ended up giving me a truck which felt like an upgrade:) I was able to leave the keys in the dropbox when I returned it and had no extra expenses on the rental. They were efficient and didn’t try to rip me off.

Best place in the city to rent a car. I rented a car for whole month. No hassle no BS. They extended when I requested without any charge. Very professional and polite approach. My wife even got her insurance rental from these guys. They took care of insurance very well. Highly recommend these people. Hope to see ya soon in summer. I booked an SUV online and called to clarify whether the category I booked is suitable in terms of size and number of passengers. I was told that the highlander is a standard SUV and that I need to call sometime ahead to request it. I called again few hours later after confirming my travel plans but another colleague refused and said it is not a standard SUV. I had to cancel the reservation.

Atrocious service. Unhelpful, unprofessional and condescending staff. Didn’t walk through anything with me, didn’t listen to any of my questions and seemed annoyed at having to assist me with my pickup. My company has a very large corporate account with Hertz, but also with AVIS, Budget, Enterprise amongst others and I will be recommending my colleagues in Canada to steer clear of Hertz.

Very poor service. They gave me a car with smoke smell inside and when asked to change he went and sprayed inside the car and said it's good to go. Spray didn't even work. Mentioned they'll try and change the car for next business day but can't guarantee anything was the answer. Now engine light is on as well. Very poor service don't even go here. Avoid as much as you can.

This Hertz location provides very good customer service and fair rental vehicle prices. Both Mohamed (Branch Manager) and Prab were very professional, very helpful, efficient and great to deal with. It’s the worst rental experience that I ever had. They don’t rent out the good vehicles because they are “reserved” for the dealerships. The employees are very unprofessional, argumentative and don’t have any customer service skills whatsoever. It’s a shame that such incompetent employees represent the HERTZ brand.

Totally wrecked my son's birthday. The full set of flaws - rude attendant, car of a wrong class, need to pay extra for a prepaid rental, complex refund procedure and so on. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT CARD!!! They don't put it through the machine just write your number down. Result for me was a $550 UNAUTHORIZED charge. Avoid this place.
