Now let me tell you what happened, I sold my car today as I am moving out of the country, only had an interim driver;s license because I am waiting for registry to extend my license. I booked a rental online, showed up in this brutally cold weather of minus 40, only to be told by this dude that he won't accept my temp. driver's license because it doesn't have a photo, I offered my healthcard. So that is 2 AB govt. issued ID, I don't care if it has photo or NOT but these are valid ID. The guy called his boss, who told him don't accept anything less than a photo ID. So I said, is it okay if I take the car now and come back in the evening with my passport as it is really cold, the guy said no. So really poor customer service so far. Next in this brutally cold weather, I am calling for a cab but no answer, in this process despite wearing gloves I suffered frost bite injury to my fingers and all the while I walked back holding a heavy car seat. I ask you sincerely, why was it so difficult for you to let me rent a car, if I assured you I will come back with a passport? You telling me, exceptions can't be made? In this case you truly have the worst customer service of any rental company and I will share this story with as many people as I can to tell them how inconsiderate you guys are. Due to your strict, rigid protocols your customer has sustained a serious health issue and I hope you understand the gravity of this situation. My reservation had my phone number, if you dare, give me a call, I got plenty more where this came from.

I was pretty nervous about this Hertz after reading all of these reviews but was so happy I decided to call their location. Enterprise had just cancelled my booking the day before my trip so when I called this location, I was desperate. Thankfully, the employee I spoke to, I believe his name was Mani, had just received a return and had a vehicle for me. Not only that, but he gave me a great deal as the vehicle they had was much more expensive than what I was originally looking for. Their location is pretty difficult to find as gps always leads you down the wrong street but if you put Edmonton House instead of Hertz (as this Hertz is located inside Edmonton House), you should have no problem finding it. We ended up having an amazing trip and had no issues with our rental. Upon returning the vehicle, I was provided with a complimentary ride home along with amazing customer service. I did have to call in order to get a receipt as one was not emailed to me but if that's the only issue, that's fine with me. 100% would recommend booking with this location!

Absolutely horrible experience through Hertz. I had a rental while my vehicle was being repaired. I was told - no smoking and no pets in the vehicle - totally okay with that and agreed to those terms. When I returned the vehicle I was told I returned it in great condition and no concerns - signed saying there would be no cleaning fee. A week an a half later I get a phone call saying that they found pet hair in the vehicle and would be charged $400 to clean the vehicle. Be careful, if you get animal hair on your clothes and get in to the vehicle - they will charge you for it. This is absolutely ridiculous, especially when they waited a week and half to tell me when they told me that I had to return it that day due to needing to rent it out the next day. Also, when I sign paperwork saying that everything is good and no concerns with the condition and that there is no charge, then I shouldn't be charged!!

So picked up the car in regina and dropped it off in edmonton. The car itself was good. The issue was when I was returning the vehicle to Hertz in Edmonton downtown location. I filled up the gas prior to returning the vehicle. The gas was passed the full line. The guy still had the audacity to say I didnt fill it up. I told him I just filled up and he said * you have a reciept*. No I dont carry receipts for that. The car showed the gas is full. I asked him for his name , he said its Chris. But I dont believe that. If hertz will like to review this. It was a 5 foot 5 and maybe Philippino. I rent enterprise alot but that 1 day enterprise didnt have vehicles. So I tested Hertz and now never again. I'll even let my company to know to never rent from Hertz again. Hope this review helps to better your costumer service skills.

These are the absolutely worst crooks I have ever dealt with. They sold debt to a third part for causing damage that I never caused and that they never contacted me for. So now I regularly receive calls from a collection agency for funds i do not owe them. To make matters worst, I used their services on a biweekly to monthly basis after I apparently damage caused to this vehicle. All the while, they smiled at me pretending that all was good and even continuously tried to up-sale me. They are dishonest, sneaky and the worst kind of car rental company to deal with. And this is coming from someone who worked in credit card disputes up to $50,000 and who fully understands consumer rights in situations like these. Stay far, far, far away from them.

Noticed the car was making squeeking sound when braking and turning left. Called them to ask if i should return the car, the employee said if a warning light didn’t go off don’t worry about. And then when I returned the car they said i have to pay for the damaged axle. Will of course fight it in court if I have to. They are nice to talk to but will screw you to hide their own mistakes. Will always go to enterprise next time. Make sure you record calls/conversations with these scammers. They will lie to your face. This place also likes to post fake reviews. One reviewer Ian Tuckey has only 2 reviews; one bashing enterprise and one saying good things about Hertz, both posted on the same day. Hertz doesn’t seem like a multinational corporation

Unfortunately, I am not at all satisfied with the service and will not recommend this station. We rented our rental car until 6 p.m. on a Saturday. We agreed by phone to return it outside of opening hours. A few days later we were charged for an extra day, an additional driver who had already been paid and half a tank of fuel, even though we were told when we picked it up in Vancouver that the tank only had to be returned half full, as was the case when we picked it up. I put the takeover report in the glove compartment and threw the key into the designated safe. We feel cheated. The employees were always unfriendly on the phone and didn't try to help. They were only interested in ending the conversation as quickly as possible.

Voiture réservée du vendredi au mercredi avec une demande de garder la voiture jusqu'en fin de journée. Accepté par le vendeur. Lors de la restitution du véhicule (à un autre vendeur), il nous a fait payer une journée en plus (en prix extra) car nous devions la rendre a 9h alors que le premier vendeur nous avait dit d'accord pour le soir. L'agence ne s'est pas inquiétée de ne pas revoir son véhicule, nous n'avons pas revu d'appel nous disant que nous avions du "retard". Heureusement que nous avions pris l'assurance car nous avons reçu beaucoup de petits cailloux sur le pare brise en roulant et cela a fait un éclat. Si nous l'avions pas prise, nous étions bons pour repayer un nouveau pare brise.

The place is hard to find on Google Maps indeed. I called them and they gave me instructions (when you going uphill and see the chateau hotel, take a sharp left turn). The staff were professional and friendly. I rented a car for two days and ordered LDW (expensive for a student but worth it). When I came to pick up, they gave me a free upgrade. On my 1st day, got a flat tire somehow; on the 2nd day, I got a quick and free replacement (LDW covered the flat tire). When I returned the car, one employee drove me home (I think the Hertz return-home policy works for within 15 min drive). Overall, it was a good rental experience.

Car was good and the price was right, especially right now. However, staff is very pushy about purchasing their fuel plan and while they do have after hours drop off I was unable to use it because all the spots were full. They also charged me $10 more than I was quoted when I made the reservation online, which is not a big deal but was a little annoying. They also put a temporary $350 charge on your card as a safety deposit, which I'm not use to as I normally go with Avis. I will probably use them in the future if Avis is sold out again as at least they are better than Enterprise.

This 1 star goes to Hertz in general. This particular location is where I was going to pick up my car. When I made a reservation on Hertz's web site it clearly said "free cancellation". COVID came and I had to cancel. Turns out - there is no such thing as "free cancellation" with Hertz. Hertz charged me for cancelling that reservation. Those $50 did make me bankrupt, but ... This was going to be my first time rental with Hertz, now there is never going to be one. How can you rent from a company that uses such cheap tricks? I won't. And I recommend you to avoid it as well.

Extremely difficult to find after-hours. I'm not from Edmonton - perhaps this is more obvious to a local - but this Hertz is located at the main entrance to Edmonton House, a large apartment building that doesn't quite front onto 100 Ave NW - you have to turn off & take a driveway / overpass above Bellamy Hill Road to reach the front entrance. Google Maps misdirects you to the Edmonton House parking garage exit - which is a back alley, down a hill & far away from the main entrance / Hertz storefront.

Beware of rude staff who aren't looking to find solutions. As other reviews stated, there is absolutely no sign in front and it is located inside a building and therefore very difficult to locate. The employee told us the sign was stolen but it seems to have been missing for a long time so I'm not sure why it's not replaced yet. Very difficult for out of towners, we searched the location for close to an hour. The staff was so rude and unpleasant that we left and went to a nearby Budget instead.

There are liars, rude, irresponsible and give false information to their customers! I had a reservation with them and just wanted to change the driver’s name. I called the company explained the situation and asked them to change the driver’s name. Their agent told me to cancel my booking and make a new reservation and she told me 3 times that I would get the full refund! After 3 weeks when I called them to get the refund, they told me their agent gave false information and charged me 100$!

Worst experience ever! I rented my car and drove from one town to another. This is where I dropped off. I have pre-paid gas and pay extra insurance and they still charged me gas without notifying me. Also, even though I returned my car on time, they charged me an extra day. I have to call their service centre to find out all these charges. I will never ever rent from Hertz Car Rental again with such experience and suggest most of you to double check your bill with their customer service.

Unorganized corporation that lacks customer service skills. They dont understand what exceptional hospitality is. This specific location doesnt inform customers where the drop off box is so please BE AWARE TO ASK FOR YOUR OWN SAKE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT CARE AND WILL CHARGE EXTRA. With that being said, when I gave them a suggestion to next time inform their guests, they just gave a whole bunch of excuses- showing they dont care about their customers satisfaction.

Fantastic service every time. Wouldn't rent from anyone else in Edmonton They secured discounts for us that we didn't even know existed. We had a minor accident with their vehicle, and their first concern was for us (not the van). They processed the insurance claim without any hassle. Another time, we had a weird issue with the rental while we were hundreds of miles from another dealer. They literally shipped another car to us right away, no questions asked.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Would do anything to get you to buy their coverage. Every person that entered this building in 30 mins we were there had complaints. We were forced to pay double the price and experienced incredibly rude service. Their systems are so old they can’t even take credit card number and have to PHYSICALLY swipe. Hidden fees and inhumane service. I would give them 0/5 stars for being the only car rental branch to screw up all their rental deals!!!

This is a small outlet of Hertz. Extremely difficult to locate this store. I have to call the store before I finally realised the store is at the Edmonton house. I believe the staff that attended could have done better in terms of better customer service, reason for my 3 stars. It was as if I am forcing him. Also, because of the size of this place, it's only one staff that attends to customer and waited for a while before dropping the keys.

The staff that we dealt with didn't give great directions and suggestions of where to drop the car off. The staff didn't tell is the option of dropping the car to the airport since we were flying home. To be fair, he was apparently not from this location. The other staff who helped us out at the end was great. He wayed all the fees for us to be able to return the car to the airport. The car itself was very clean and new and it was great.

They don’t even deserve a One star.they provided a broken vehicle, when I told them about it all they said is.. Thanks for letting us know.. Then a manager came out and told me the vehicle need to take for detailing . He was arguing with me .. I have contacted hertz about it waiting for their response... I was charged $200 extra for detailing which is insane. This place is a scam... better go to other car rental..

Ankhit and Paras were awesome to work with. I was in a bind for a rental and they had me squared away with zero problems and hassle. Paras (I hope I got your name right) got me back and forth from there to my hotel in great time, had a great chat with him. Very personable and friendly crew, thank you so much guys. Tricky to get to, no doubt about that, but that is hardly the fault of these guys.

Best car rental ever!!!! The staff are so nice, and they work fast. I literally never rent a car so fast !!! You cloud drive away in 15 min. And the staff always help me to find the most fit car for my needs. Beside that the car are very well maintained (clean) Definitely i will recommend to anyone to rent a car here. Went there for a quote. Service was extremely slow and unprofessional. Finally the in store employee put me on the phone with someone that can give me a quote and I got such a ridiculous price, it is as if they did not want my business. The new "corporate discount rate" I received was higher than their online prices. Needless to say, I rented with another company.

I rented a car here for 2 weeks for a work trip. Excellent service and no problems at all with pick up or drop off. I accidentally left my sunnies in the rental car. Tracing back I finally realized 5 months later that this is where I left them. I called them and they still had my sunglasses in their lock box. Very impressed with this service.

Unparalleled customer service, even if this car shop is somewhat difficult to find, I highly recommend you take the time for the detour. Fast and easy pick-up and drop-off for when I needed a rental after I got into an accident. I booked the evening before and it was ready the next day. Rates were affordable and car was superb. Very nice customer service. The guy who we met was super friendly and respectful. Communication was fast and accurate. The only problem was google map, it lead me to a wrong location, so make sure you put Edmonton house when you put the address on Google map. Definitely recommend this location!

These guys are crooks and will charge you hundreds of dollars extra for cleaning. They gave me a filthy car and I gave it back to them cleaner than when received. They also charged me $500 extra supposedly by accident and it’s been more than a week and I have not seen it refunded yet.

Just wanted to add a note that the walking direction given was inaccurate. The location is accessible only via a pedestrian bridge on 100 Ave, or 102 St, NOT the highway. Service was alright as I have had better experience with other Hertz locations.
